SOLEMN ASSEMBLY - JULY 15 - FOX'S HOLLOW

Greetings,
There has been a great call to prayer over the last decade from Family Research Council, called 'Call2Fall'.  and in this call is the request to spend 5 minutes on your knees, as a corporate body and pray for our nation.  The timing of this is generally been the Sunday before July 4th.   In that 5 minute pleading it is based on II Chronicles 7:14.  I was very pleased with this emphasis, but greatly discouraged that it was only 5 minutes and only 1 time a year.

We took this call and went further by staying on the first Sunday of each month.  And instead of 5 minutes of corporate prayer during worship hour, we cancelled sunday school and used that 45 to 50 minutes for corporate prayer time.  during this time we focused on worship - confession - pleadings.  Below is our 'sketch' of walking through this 2 hour prayer time using the term Solemn Assembly.
the hour is late for our nation, for our loved ones, for this generation and the need is great.  We will give ourselves to prayer; and pray so as to prevail with the Lord.

You will see that most of the major points of prayer is followed by 3 examples to be incorporated or prayed through.   There are numerous other verses but you are more than welcome to adapt and deepen this outline.

--Thanksgivings for Who He is and what He has done;

Christ is Savior and Lord and He is sufficient.
 --'thou shalt call His Name, Jesus; for He shall save His people from their sins" - Matthew1:21;
--'to as many as would receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God' - John 1:12;
--'And now why tarriest thou?  arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the Name of the Lord." - Acts 22:16;
--'if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins' - I John 1:9;

II CONFESSION

After the prayer time of worship, we have been reminded, prayed and meditated on the great thoughts of God.   We have rehearsed Who He is, what He has done and how great are His ways.  As we see Him, high and lifted up, we are made keenly aware of our own filth.   Which leads us to confess and repent of our sins, transgressions and iniquities.  These are specific sins and we are to call them as such before the Lord, Who already knows wherein our sins lies.  But His Holy Spirit is pricking us and prodding us that we would be made aware of them, so that we may put them from us.

"If I regard iniquity within my heart, He will not hear me" - Psalm 66:18
"Who shall ascend into the hill of the LOrd? or who shall stand in His Holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.  He shall receive the blessing of the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation." - Psalm 24:3 - 5

--Our Own heart; Personal sins;

--Our families;

--Our church; ;

--Our nation;

III.  PLEADINGS

"in wrath remember mercy"
"will Thou not revive us again"
"You shall be endued with power from on high";  'and they were all filled with Holy Ghost"
'Thou art now, the favoured of the Lord" - His church;
'blessings instead of cursings'
'healings of our land, homes, heart and minds'
'tear down strongholds, imaginations'

Victories over the 4 epidemics of our society and nation:  1.  Drugs;  2.  Cancer; 3. Great Evils of Murder, Death;  4.  LGBT agenda;

 Conclusion
In drawing ot a close in our prayer time and reflection on where we are, where our church is, where our families our and where our nation is, let us stay before the Lord to renew our vows.  A covenant vow to surrender to Him, obey Him and follow after Him in all that He would require of us.
