HOW LONG CHURCH

October 12, 2017

Greetings,
"How long will this people provoke Me? and how long will it be ere they believe Me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?"  Number 14:11

Found throughout Scripture are numerous times in which this question is asked.  The martyrs cry out to the Father in Revelation, 'how long before You avenge us? our blood cries out.'  In Exodus, Moses and Aaron pleaded with Pharaoh, 'how long before you humble yourself and let the people go?'  And even the people of Egypt pleaded after the decimation of Egypt with the plagues cried out.  Over in I Kings Elijah the prophet comes forth after 3 and 1/2 years of drought and says to the people, 'how long will halt you between two opinions?  choose this day which God/god you will serve?'

But now, in Numbers 14, Moses is left to answer God for the sake of the people.  In Numbers 11 the people of Israel complained about the food; in chapter 12, Miriam and Aaron came against Moses; in chapter 13, the spies brought back an evil report of the land and sought to go back into Egypt.  They refused to hear and obey the Word of the Lord.  And now, God presents His argument, 'how long will they continue?'

Does God not know the answer?  If God knows everything, why does He asks questions?  When God came seeking Adam and Eve in the garden, God asked, 'Where art thou?'  He knew, He wanted them to answer.  When Cain slew Abel, God asked, 'Where is your brother?'  He knew, He wanted Cain to answer for his folly.  And now it is the same for Israel, 'how long will you provoke Me?  how long will you not believe Me and obey Me?'  He knows our proneness to disobey, to not listen.  And only by His grace and mercy does He restrain Himself.

In the last weeks, we have seen remedial judgements on our land, like never before.  Before these things happened god was warning; yea, He has been warning for decades of our collapse and folly if we did not repent of our evil.  But we haven't repented.  We haven't turned to Him.  And even though the church should be very much aware of this, still they continue on as if everything was 'ok'; or 'this will pass'; 'its only for a short time, it'll get better'.  Well, what if doesn't?!

there is a remnant right now pleading for God 'in wrath to remember mercy'.  Just like here in Numbers 14, when Moses knew God was angry and going to consume the people for their provocative acts, he stood as an intercessor pleading, 'You can't do this Lord'.  and God listened to HIm and restrained Himself from consuming them at once, and removing them from the earth.  But there was still a heavy price to pay for all their rebellion.

I am pleading with you once again to understand the times we are in.  For decades the sins of our nation have mounted against the Lord.  Abortion, homosexuality, drugs, money, entertainment, perversions, adultery, fornication, drunkenness, hate, rebellion, etc  all of these things are exactly against what God intended or ever wanted for a nation, or for His Own people.  Yet, we have seen all of our society, including the church fall prey to the 'lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life.'  Oh brethren, don't you see that without a right response to Him, these things will continue and get worse.

Pleas for that right response from me, have largely fell on deaf ears of church and prayer leaders.  Now there is a prayer movement in place and growing.  Recent activity of 'Awaken the Dawn' of 2 days and 3 nights at the national Mall was a protracted meeting that was pleading for these things.  Other events, appeals, conferences, whatever you want to call it, have been done and suggested, attended and planned.  But the sins still remains, the church largely, still carnal, lost, prayerless, and the evil abounds.

Must we be like Pharaoh and wait until all of Egypt is destroyed before we finally humble ourselves and seek HIm with the whole heart.  Haven't we seen the wonders of the Lord in nature, headlines, and know that His hand has gone out against us in a fierce way?  Do we have to wait until 1000's or 10,000's are dead before we call a nation, His church to get on their knees and stay till the sin is dealt with.  Always after the tragedy, but never before it.

Before the next tragedy, the next calamity; set time and make time to meet Him and wait before Him on behalf of our nation, the church, our families on our own lives.  Understand Who He is, what He has done and what He will do.

Recommended Solution:
--when churches in days gone by, understood the judgements, the signs of the times, the handwriting on the wall they responded and God answered;   Concerts of Prayer   Incorporated for the purpose of each month; unity of all church/Christ body coming together and prayers being continually offered;
http://danbiser.blogspot.com/2017/04/concerts-of-prayer-2017.html
--Day of Prayer & Fasting;  was called for for Sept. 24 and only a handful partiipated;  the day of confession, humblings, fasting and weeping before Him by His church;  A continued call for such on October 29, November 26 and December 31;
http://danbiser.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-day-of-prayer-fasting-before-lord.html
--need for protracted time to spend before the Lord for HIm to deeal with us and us to be before Him;  church has all but passed on this due to 'we're too busy'; 'don't have time'; 'cant afford it';  When nation is consumed will you have time then?  When war breaks out and 1000s die will you have time then?

Until

JUDGEMENT OF GOD

The judgement of God upon a nation, upon His church and upon individuals

Greetings,
This is a vast study of which seems to be causing great confusion to the world and to the church.  Recent events in our nation have shaken the nation, and the church leadership seems to be stumbling along to find an answer to the people.  And out of this 'stumbling for an answer' the moment to declare the whole counsel of God is being missed.  And what God meant for an opportunity to repent and return to Him, is being deluded into man's vain phrases.

Note that there are two judgements:
1.  The Great White Throne Judgement at the end of time for all mankind;
Here at this judgement seat God will separate the sheep and the goats  The sheep being those atoned for by Christ and their surrender to Him as His people.  But even the church shall be judged here.  Not for determination of eternity of heaven or hell, but according to their works of rewards given or taken away.
and of course, the damned, the goats shall be judged condemned and thrown into the lake of fire.  Where, it can be argued, judged for all eternity for their folly in rejected the Son of God and choosing rather to live for the flesh and miss and eternity with Him.

2.  The second reference to judgement is that which is upon our minds and hearts now; how does God judged the earth, the nations, individuals and His church from Genesis 3 to even now.  All of these judgements are before we meet Him face to face. these are instant judgements, enduring judgements, continual judgements, sporadic judgements and/or generational judgements to name a few examples.  Of these we will be looking at from SCripture in relation to our present day and future existence.

So let us look at the two things that reveal when, how, what  God does in judgement.  This will be discerned by 3 means:
1.  Who God is;
2. What the Word of God says and reveals about the nature of God and what He has said and done;
3.  Historical accounts of God's judgement;

And out of this we can see Who God is, what God desires, what causes these things and what God requires of man in his response.

Who God is?
Leonard Ravenhill stated that anybody that came to visit and talk with him, he would first ask this question, "Do you know God?'  And the answer to the question of this is not found in what men say about God.  But the answer is in what God has revealed about Himself in His Word, and in what God reveals about Himself in life.  And these ways of understanding Who God is are never contradictory.  Consistent, true, immutable are the ways of God and Who God is.  The Lord said it, 'I change not'.

And yet our problem to deal with Who God is, is found in this reality; God is infinite and we are finite.  How can finite grasp, understand conceive of the ways, thought and actions of God?  It is impossible.  Seeing then we are limited, we cannot answer everything about Who God is.  But He has revealed and spoken enough for us to grasp His ways.

Let us look first at what God has revealed about Himself in His Word through what He has said of Himself, and what He has promised to do in response or reaction to man's actions.   In the Scripture, one of the most revealing parts of it, is Who God is directly in what He has said of Himself to the actions of man.  the reference of this is reaction to action  teaches us a lot of God's nature, will and purpose.  Again, He is consistent in this reaction to man's action.  so that, that which man's action did in 2000 BC is the same in 2000 AD.  He changes not.

Now these reactions to actions are phrases in the Scripture that teaches us what God has said of Himself and man.  These are both positive and negative reactions of God.  And often men will be lopsided in their approach, focus, or understanding and will simply focus on one side or the other.  But the truth of Who God is has to be the whole (as much as we can grasp).  so when God says, "I am Light, and in Me is no darkness" and yet He also says, 'I dwell in the thick darkness".  And can light and darkness exist together?  Men can't get their grasp of this, for we are focused on one or the other.  And yet, God is not limited; for He is able to do all things, be Light and/or in darkness.

Examples of God's Reaction/Response to man's reaction/response:
Positive
--Jeremiah 18:8, "if nation repents, God repents of the evil that He thought to do"
--II Chronicles 30:6 - 9, "if ye turn He will return"
--Luke 12:8, "if you confess Me, I will confess you before My Father which is in heven"
--Zechariah 1:3, "Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto Me, saith the Lord of hosts, and i iwll turn unto you, saith the Lord"
--Malachi 3:7, "Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts"
--Deuteronomy 7:12, "if ye keep and do, the Lord will keep"
--James 4:8, "draw nigh to God, and HE will draw nigh unto you"
--John 15, "Abide in Me, and I will abide in you"

Negative
--II Timothy 2:12, "if we deny Him, He will deny us"
--Ezekiel 23:17, 18, "mind alienated, God's mind alienated:
--Deuteronomy 31:16, 17, "they will forsake Me; v. 17 I will forsake them"
--Deuteronomy 32:21, "they moved Me to jealousy; I will move them to jealousy; they provoked Met to anger; I will provoke them to anger"
--Luke 12:9, "deny Me before men; I will deny you "
--Zechariah 7:13, "Therefore it is come to pass, that as He cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord"
--I Samuel 15:23, 'tho hast rejected the word of the Lord, He hath also rejected thee from being king"
--Hosea 4:6, 'because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will reject thee'  "seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children"
--Leviticus 26:23, "but walk contrary unto Me" v. 24 "Then will I also walk contrary unto you"
also Lev. 26, 27 - 28; v. 40 - 41;
--II Chronicles 24:20, "because ye have forsaken the Lord, He has forsaken you"

There are over 20 Scriptures revealing God's activity toward men.  And as we have already confirmed, 'He changes not'.  Therefore, His consistency to men of Old Testament, is the same as New Testament, which is the same as present day.  In this we fear and tremble for the wicked and evil of men;  but joy and gladness in Him and through Him as His children to receive that which He has promised.

but the error of the church is that they focus on one or the other and never see the scope of the whole upon all men.  It is not clear to the church of God's promise to condemn lost men to hell.  In this generation, no one goes to hell; the status of our minds is that we cannot grasp what God has declared about lost sinners.  It is even harder for men to understand the activity of God on wicked men while here.  The very Scripture that reveal 'Who God is' in relationship to a response to wicked mens deeds is all but unknown.  Most of this, I fear, is due, to the lack of 2 points:
1.  we don't know the Word of God that reveals the activity of God;
2.  we don't believe these truths, which allows for Satan and his lies to eradicate away truth for half-truths and whole lies;

the certainty of it is that if men have such a huge problem with the Lord judging wicked sinners here and now, but for their final judgement into eternal hell; how much more do they dispel God's wrath and judgement against a sinful church.  Again, the failure is not in the minds of men to come up with this truth; it is revealed in the Scripture of Who God is, and what He does to sinners and saints while here on this earth.

Let's look at few examples of God's hand going out against those that professed being apart of His people:
---  'Remember Lot's wife' - Lot was in the gates and cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; Hebrews calls Lot 'righteous' and that he was afflicted by the wiles of the evil men.  God, paticularly due to Abraham delivers Lot from the destruction.  Yet, not Abraham, nor Lot could deliver Lot's wife, as she disobeyed the Word of the Lord.  'Look not back';  and she did.
--David and his  bastard child;  David was the 'apple of God's eye';  the Lord favored him and raised him up to great heights.  David's love and heart to the Lord is expressed throughout the Psalms so powerfully.  Yet, we know that David lusted, committed adultery and killed Uirjah the Hitite to have Bathsheba and cover up his iniquity.  God struck the child of David and pronounced through Nathan the prophet, that because of David's sin, the child would die.  The child was innocent, yet, God wrath toward David was felt deeply.  And not only the child, but also his home turned into chaos and betrayal.
--Gehazi;

--Uzzah;

--Ananias and Saphira;

--church of Ephesus;  Christ warns this church that if they did not return and do their first works, then He would come and remove their candlestick;  Robert Murray Mccheyne traveling

  All of which we know He judges us at the throne, but also here.   You say, "how?'   In Revelations 2 & 3 to the seven churches did the Lord impose warnings for them of blessing and cursing?  'In these things you are doing, I am pleased', and 'in these things I am not pleased'.  Now this is not to the lost world, this is to His bride, the church.  One of the strongest warnings was to the church at Ephesus.  'Remember from whence you are fallen and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.'  One may wish to argue whether this is judgement or not, but it is clear that their are works done that has provoked the Lord to respond to their folly.  And to remove one's candlestick is to remove their light in this world of darkness;  verily in death or destruction.   This is God's judgement here and now on earth to His Own people.

The basis that God does not judge His Own people, is garnered from the limited understanding of God's forgiveness.  The teaching of the Scriptures is clear, God hears, forgives, cleanses and renews us.  sin is washed away by the blood of Christ; cleansed from our lives and removed from His sight and Presences.  in this we rejoice.  However, what is not apparently understood is that works done in the flesh, in the past, in sin, still have repercussions upon a soul, family, church and/or nation.

For example, a man, lost in sin, smoking, drinking, carousing in sexual sin for decades.   This wicked man hears the Gospel, understands his lost estate and in repentance cries aloud for God to have mercy on his soul.  Professing allegiance to Christ, confessing all of his wicked practices and denouncing them to never do again, and for all the rest of his days he will serve the Lord wholeheartedly.  In this heaven and the church rejoice over one lost soul coming to Christ.   and even though we know the Scriptures, God in grace and mercy forgives that man, removes his sin from His anger and judgement.  He is a clean vessel, a saint in Christ.  Yet, the by products of his decades of evil are still in place - all the times wasted and profit nothing; the affects on his mind, and body; the impact on others that have learned, seen his behavior bearing impression on them.  That even though he has forsaken the sin, the results of the sin still remain.  so that it would no surprise if the doctor says, 'you have lung cancer from decades of smoking. . .you have sclerosis of the liver from drink. . . .you have sexually transmitted disease from sexual sins'.   Forgiven of these yes, but 'the wages of sin' are still temporally upon the man.   Now, God in His mercy and grace may heal, may remove, for His Own purposes.   But generally the Lord will and does forgve, but does not remove the affects of the sin in the present.

the example in the bible is King Manasseh.  He was one of the most wicked kings of all Judah.  Yet, God sent the king to humble him and in prison he besought the Lord.  The Lord heard him and forgave him; and allowed for him to return to his kingdom.  Yet, we read that the blood which Manasseh shed in the streets of Jerusalem God would not forgive and He held Judah responsible for the innocent blood.   Also, Manasseh's son, knowing that his father humbled and turned to the Lord, did not humble himself before the Lord, but had learned the evil of idolatry from his father and practiced that sin.   Repercussions instilled due to years of sin is passed on and remains till God judges it.

This is the fearfulness of our nation's plight right now in specific regards to abortion.  Can God, will God forgive a woman that has an abortion?  Absolutely yes, yet the blood of the slain for the millions still remains upon the land.  And God says, the blood cries out to Him for vengeance.   So that even though the church may confess the sin, hate the sin; it is still in place.  and all the blood from years gone by, 4 decades legalized, has not been atoned for.   Herein, is the problem of the church today to deal properly with sins of the past, and the repercussions upon the present and future.  But this is the nature of God and He is consistent with it.

What are these Areas of Judgements by God

This is not an exhaustive lists of God's judgements, but it is a overall picture of understanding what God has done, allowed and permitted in Scripture and in history.  There are 'realms' of judgements that are demonstrated in the majority of God's judgements.  These do not always stand alone by themselves, but often are interchanged in impact, they are:
1 Natural
these are when God through His creation of land, weather etc. impact a people for their trespass, transgression and iniquity against Him, each other and the land.  We see this consistently as famine, droughts, storms, earthquakes, wildfires, etc.  Looking at Scripture we see a pattern of men shedding blood through murder and defiling the land.  Cain slew Abel, and God said, 'Your brothers blood cries out to me from the ground'.  Manasseh slew inncoents and God said that He would judge the land for the blood that he shed.
In Egypt of the 10 plagues, we see God causes judgement on Pharoah and the Egyptians for their refusal to let Israel go, and God would be glorified in this.  The judgements were frogs, flies, water to blood, darkness, and hail and lighting/fire on the ground.

2.  Pestilence

3.  War

4.  Minds/Hearts evil affected

5.  Economy
God is able to give in blessings, or to take away in cursings.

6.  Political
"God raises up kings, and God removes kings"  These things are for His purposes of government.  God gives the people, a nation, a leader, of Christian witness to further His plans at that time.  But we have also seen that God raises up and allows evil men to accopmlish His purposes of judgement on the people.  Truly we can say, in relationship to judgement, 'we get what we deserve'.  And the trend, except in remote moments, what the people are is what God sends.  Foolish people get foolish leaders; wise people get wise leaders; unholy people get unholy leaders; righteous people get righteous leaders.

7.  Family
God established the family.  His command and instructions is given quite clearly for what He wants and intended.  'A man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, the woman whom God has given him.'  These two, male and female shall be joined in an holy covenant of marriage to each other before the Lord.  and these two, as one, before the Lord, shall procreate sons and daughters.  their responsibility shall be to each other and to their children to fear the Lord all the days of their life.  Yet, what do we see today?
--destroyed marriage; divorce, which God says "I hate putting away'.  And in the church in the world, divorce is so easy, so acceptable, and herein is our judgement that God has given us over to the reprobate mind of divorce, multiple partners, and now perverse homosexual marriages, that continue to send us to our final judgement due to our disobedience to what was good and right.
--rebellion of children; Obey your parents as they instruct you to fear the Lord and serve the Lord, yet, it is the hardest battle for this, as the world swallows our younger generation in lusts and sin.  One of the great judgements on the home today is the rebellion of children against parents.  'Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft'.  God ordered unity, men have made it divided.
the sight of the home today, of 'family' today, is no where near what God intended.  And this scarred, deformed, ruined oracle of God is blemished due to our sin, and God's judgement of allowing for Satan to mar us.

What Causes the Response/Reaction of God

The reaction of God is dependent upon the response of man.  in our conversation here we are disucssing the response of man being there sinful, vile, wicked plight of choosing to sin against Him.  We see God defines this consistently throughout the Scriptures.  And it is all centered on the response of men for obedience or disobedience.  From the beginning we see it clearly, ‘eat of the tree of life, and ye shall die’.  The reality of our existence is found in this truth, ‘are we obeying the Word of God or not?’  The means of man now are not bent on obedience to God or not, but ‘what’s in it for me?’  Life, decisions, and choices are all for the sake of self.  The truth of man’s response is all but forgotten or dismissed, ‘the wages of sin is death’.

Clear Scriptures on this truth are repeated over and over:
--‘If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.’
--’ If you obey Me, it shall go well with you’;
--“if you don’t obey Me, it will not go well with you’
One of the most clearest Scripture that reveals the severity of this truth is found in Leviticus.  Everything is dependent upon our walk with the Lord.   And in this passage of Scripture the question to be answered by the nation, by the church and by the individual is ‘are we walking contrary to the Lord or not?’ And God answers this, 'if ye walk contrary to Me, I will walk contrary to you'.

What God Desires

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is whole duty of man."  Ecc. 12.   Men were given life and souls to do one thing, glorify Him.  When one examines their life, they see how utterly far we fall short of this.  And we know that all that we have discussed previously of our sins, has robbed us of fulfilling this truth and desire of God.  Missed moments, missed opportunities, failures, faults, all culminate to rob us of wasted life and time.  And yet, in most wonderful way of grace and mercy, God comes, delivers, restores, blesses and fulfills His desire in His children.  To look at one's life it is the paradox of it all:
--glory - in what He has done;
--wretched - in what I/we have done;

So that it is understood and applied that in us, 'no good thing dwells' and 'all our righteousness is as filthy rags'.  but in Him and through Him is holiness, righteousness and faithfulness that please Him, honor Him and glorify Him.

God has declared His will and ways for His creation.  The whole duty and purpose of man is to bring glory to Him.  And the soul that acknowledges Him in His perfect way , comes to Him and serves Him.  This same soul will be with Him for all eternity through Christ Jesus.  But the soul that uses this life for vanity, for sin, for self, misses the purpose and reason of existence in this life.  They come to a close of this life, and enter into eternity to face the greatest punishment for all eternity.
