Greetings,
"and if ye walk contrary unto Me, and will not hearken unto Me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins." Leviticus 26:21
--but will walk contrary unto Me - 26:23
--Then also I will walk contrary unto you - 26:24
--but walk contrary unto Me - 26:27
--Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury - 26:28
--that also they have walked contrary unto Me - 26:40
--And that I also have walked contrary unto them - 26:41
I still have not found a easy way of referring to these truths out of God's word, in regards to our activity. But our responses provoke God to respond, for blessing or cursing. There are promises and blessings of this truth, but there is also judgements and cursings to this truth. "If you draw nigh to Me, I will draw nigh to you'; 'If you abide in Me, I will abide in you' - God's response to our response. But in the above Scriptures from Leviticus it is not a blessing but a curse. And it is a horrible curse of warning to the people that walk contrary unto God; He will walk contrary unto us.
I have learned much of God's activity and nature from these truths. And it has dominated much of my thoughts and prayer life. There are almost 3 dozen of these Scripture responses of God in regards to a nation, to His church and to our own personal walk. The Christian, the church should be seeking favor of the Lord and not provoking Him. The sinner, the reprobate nation are seeking self and sin, and will provoke Him to wrath and judgement. This is the natural course of God's ways to the ways of men. I think it to be clear cut in what God has said, His response and our needed response. If we provoke Him and He judges us, we have the ability to understand and know wherein our folly is, confess it, repent of it, and restore our walk with Him.
but when a soul, a family, a nation, or a church continues in their sin, even after being warned and made aware of their sin, God will come in wrath 7X greater than before. In the last 18 years, our nation has seen the wrath of God upon us in great calamities and what I term now in the prayer targets, 'epidemics' or our society. We are in danger of facing 3 epidemics now, (i have just added another #4) and because the sin has not been dealt with nor made known, then we face an increase of these epidemics that hasten us, propel us toward annihilation, destruction and desolation. How long can we go with such sin and abominations openly flaunted by the heathen and not have God show up and say, 'You are weighed in the balances and found wanting. Tonight thy souls shall be required of thee'.
There is a scary future on our horizon with the new Supreme Court nomination. The radical left is moving toward anarchy of the streets and government. The increase of public assaults against Trumps government workers will soon be upon any and all that are of different opinion. There will be no balance of this, just chaos. and I even read of one report that said, there are plans being made, to stop this justice from being appointed 'by any means necessary'. That is a scary statement.
But again, this is all because, as a nation, and the church, we have walked contrary unto God. WE have not obeyed, nor feared the Lord. We have not prayed and sought Him with a prevailing spirit. We have resorted to humanism, self, and our own ways to live life. We have legalized abortion, homosexuality, allowance of drugs, adultery, fornication, greed, ease and profaned and defiled this land with all our sorted sins of offense toward a holy God. And do we really not know, perhaps we don't know the nature of God, that He will come and meet us in our sin. And He is already doing that.
this section of chapter 26 in Leviticus is the warning of the remedial judgements that I talk and use as prayer targets. God sends a judgement because of our sin, and His response is to provoke us to respond in confession and repentance and a restored vow unto Him as Lord. If our response is not right in His sight, and we continue to walk contrary unto Him, then the remedial judgements increase to cause us to respond rightly. He did this with wicked Israel following the break away from Judah for almost 300 years; for Judah it was 400 years. But eventually we come to a place that God says, no more. And their is 'in that day' a great wrath that goes out from God upon the nation, upon the people and upon our way of life. And what we once knew and lived, is no more. That day is hastening on.
It is needful for us to do all that we can to be much before the Lord, to correct our ways, to plead with Him for His perfect work to be completed in us, and to seek for empowerment from on high to do the work. The Solemn Assembly offers a set time to come before the Lord corporately. At Fox's Hollow, because I missed Call2Fall on the 1st Sunday of this month, which is only 5 minutes, but we use our whole Sunday School time for corporate prayer, I will be leading a Solemn Assembly. We will take as much of the 2 hours of our Sunday worship to do this. We will cover the Worship - Confession - Pleadings. Please pray for us during these times this Sunday.
My efforts in studying the Bible, in prayer, in seeking where you are, is to teach you these truths if you don't know them, so that we might have a right response to Him that pleases Him. It is to bring glory to Him in a faithful, righteous people. It is to deliver us from reaching the point of no return at the end of the chapter. For a long time, I had in my mind, that it was a norm, that the lost world didn't get this, nor would they; but the church did know. I no longer assume that. For I fear that church leaders are as ignorant of these things as the heathen. But even worse, that church leaders, know but refuse to do the right response because of fear of man. Often I have had them say to me, especially last fall during that climatic point of history of 2 hurricanes, flooding, mass shooting, school shooting, police officer shooting; and so many of the leadership, ' yes, we know, and we agree with you we are under judgement'; 'But we don't know what to do'
1. Sin is to be identified - 'wherein is our great offense against the Lord?'
2. We are to confess our sin.
3. We are to repent of named sin. No more to be named among us, practices, given time or purpose toward.
4. Pleading with the Lord 'in wrath to remember mercy' against our nation, His church, and our own walk.
5. Prayer of renewed vow, establish the covenant of Christ upon us. We will walk with Him and not contrary to Him.
6. Rise up and do it each day. No more the hit and miss attitude. but each day striving to be holy, as He is holy.
We have walked contrary to Him as a nation in all our offenses that we have allowed, practiced, legalized and by judicial edicts. God is greatly angry with our nation. The church, is more like the world, than they are Him. They walk contrary to His Word, and ways, partly because preachers have not read nor declare His ways and Word. But largely they walk contrary to Him, because they have died to self completely, but hold on to flesh and world. God will not honor such Christianity that profanes His Holy Name.
Our time is limited; our need is great; pray so as to prevail while we have time.
PRAYER TARGETS:
3 Epidemics - Drugs; Cancer; and Murder (which is murder-suicides, suicides, police officer shootings, mass shootings)
--the 4th epidemic - 'When God gives us over to a reprobate mind' Romans 3 times He speaks this truth to a wicked, evil nation; LGBT agenda, people are continuing in their agenda, and those in the church or not, are compromising with them, lest they be termed, 'hateful' and many other terms I will not posts here; There agenda is out of hell; and it is claiming our society. The church is scared to death to speak the truth, perhaps because they do not know the truth, or perhaps because they have loved ones that are in this sin. But it is sin and it is corrosive sin that destroys to death. It is now the 4th epidemic of our time.
--Supreme Court nominee - the church is celebrating to fast; the upheaval this may cause, as expressed above, may be more than any of us thought; it would do well for us to seek the Lord for mercy in regards to the stability of our nation, the confirmation, and the eradication of the abominations of abortion and homosexuality; None of which Satan and his followers are wiling to give up easily - THIS IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE!!
--Nigeria - reports that in the last several years, over 6000 Christians have been targeted and killed by Boko Haran and other extreme group;
--Congo is reporting mass graves and great war crimes in this tribal battle; horrific things being done;
--North Korea historic talks happened last month; I warned then, not ot let up till it was a sealed deal; now in the last days/week, it seems to be stalled, backtracking, or derailed. Satan will not let go easily, pray through till the Gospel of Light goes into this land of darkness. Much is at stake.
--Weather - Hawaii volcano still active in its activity; greater typhoons in south and west Pacific; japan has really been hit; our hurricane season underway and al4ready now being forecast worse year than thought before;
--Muslim refugees in Thailand from Mynamar 800,000 in camp; food, water, clothing, shelter, sanitation and the Gospel;
--answered prayer of 12 boys and coach rescued from cave;
--answered prayer this past Sunday Dave Seeders has been out of church for 7 months due to a horrific accident and complications; he and his wife came Sunday and we all rejoiced in this;
