"Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God; for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil. Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?" Joel 2:12 - 14
I've been here before! Almost a full year ago, last August, 2017. At the close of the month there was a hurricane approaching the Gulf Coast. And I asked of prayer leaders and prayer partners what we would do if we had back to back hurricanes. And within a week, the forecast came in that 2 hurricanes would hit the US. This was something that was not heard of before; it was 'historic'. Destruction, death had been happening for months, yea, for years. Drugs, police officers being gunned down, school shootings happening more frequently and all of this was revealing that we were, and we are, in serious trouble. Yea, our very future is in jeopardy.
As September progressed, I was in action to contact prayer leaders, church leaders, that we were in serious trouble and something must be done. I was moved that God was not done, in His severe wrath against us, and that there was more to come. The remedial judgements were increasing and the next one may be more catastrophic. Toward the middle to the end of September, something wasn't right in my soul, my spirit. I sought the Lord what it was, but only revealed that seemed to lead me to believe that something worse was coming. I begged and pleaded for a response, in hopes of staving off whatever this might be. My efforts failed! For in October, the Las Vegas shooting occurred and another 'historic', 'record' setting of mass shooting in the US had now occurred.
so now, as I write again, plead again, rehearse again, we are now 1 year worse, than last year.. Judgements have been happening at record fashion. And they will not stop, or subside until the church responds rightly before the Lord for our sins.
Throughout Amos, chapter 4, God is sending plague and judgement one right after another and at the conclusion of those plagues from the Lord, He states: "But you would not return unto Me". Are we not here!! God is sending massive amounts of wrath, fury and anger against us and yet we will not return unto Him as we should. Churches, pastors continue on with their entertainment, ease and contentment, as we approach greater wrath from the Lord.
Such things has forced me to change my approach to present these issues. Yea, I have in the last 2 months, turned my Prayer Blog section of "prayer targets" to no longer mention these points, for the Lord has revealed to me that we are no longer being warned, no longer under judgement, no longer facing remedial judgements; we have reached the status of EPIDEMICS.
Epidemic: affecting or tending to affect a disproportionately large number of individuals within a population: characterized by very widespread growth or extent;
I have identified 6 EPIDEMICS upon our nation that fits this definition. The 6 are:
#1 - drugs; 2017 we saw just over 70,000 deaths, a 'record' number as numbers have continued to increase; I expect numbers to drop in 2018, but drug use is still at an all high time.
#2 - cancer; Cancer has been attacking us as a plague upon old and young, man or woman, knowing no partiality in its affliction; You would be hard pressed as the drug epidemic so with the cancer epidemic to find a family that has not had to walk through this grueling attack of life and death.
#3 - great evil of murder and death; The study of murder-suicides increase started this focus, then it was the school shooting, then the mass shootings, then the police shootings and added into that is church shootings. But hell's great fury to bring death and destruction is left in this epidemic that is in every county, every city, on our streets and in our schools and homes. Chicago has seen record number of deaths by gunfire; and just last month in July they averaged 2 people being killed each day. So far in August, the blood shed has continued.
"for blood it defileth the land; and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it." Numbers 35:33
Blood defiles the land. Unclean in the sight of God. And just as Abel's blood cries out to God from the ground, how much blood upon our streets and ground is crying out to God? Abortion has begun this blood shed of murder against the unborn, and innocent; and we have accelerated to life as a whole meaning nothing and easy to be taken with a gun. These are horrible happenings affecting the greater part of our society today. Where are you church?
#4 - LGBT agenda; the homosexual, to transgender movement has accelerated also, since Obama was president. He used his power to push this agenda of hell upon our society. And the young people following the leads of sin, have corrupted themselves at early ages of middle school into high school trying it and committing these great acts of abominations int he sight of God. And they have sued, brought hostile charges and incited a society to attack and assault the church for standing true to the principles of God and His Word on what a man and a woman are and what their roles are in this life.
#5 - CHILDREN; Last week my iphone sounded the Amber Alert 3 times throughout the week. The most ever; a 'record' number of Amber Alerts issued for our area. Why? Because children are paying the price of our generation and the previous generations sins that God is removing decency, morality, and safety to old and young. Children's abuse and neglect is being revealed each day, each week in horrible headlines of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Generally by those that they are entrusted to protect them, they are perverting them. Again, how deep is this? You would hard pressed to find a child that has not been abused by the time they reach grade school in this sick, wicked society. Sex trafficking is at an all time high; and countless amounts of children are being abducted and taken advantage of by those in authority over them.
#6 - Natural Disasters; death and destruction; Loss of life, homes, property and damage done. Wildfires just hit another 'record' of the largest wildfire in CA, at 284,000 acres being consumed. The entire west is on fire. Hawaii has seen a volcano erupt and flow for weeks; the east has seen 'record' & 'historic' rainfall.
I feel like the priest of Egypt coming to Pharaoh as I approach you again; 'do you not know that all of Egypt is destroyed? Let the people go.' But God had hardened Pharaoh's heart for God would judge Egypt for what they had done to His people. Our nation has had multiple times to repent, turn and return to Him but we would not. Perhaps God has hardened the church, so that He may bring judgement upon this land that has forsaken Him and forgotten Him. But I am here now, to plead with you to respond rightly as He has told us to in Joel 2. Yea, did not the king and people of Nineveh respond rightly when God sent Jonah to warn them that they only had 40 days. Do you not understand that we are in the same plight and that time is an issue of urgency for us to respond?
I am asking of you to consider that we are in serious crisis as a nation and the time to respond is urgent -- it is NOW! Must we wait for the next calamity? Must we watch all of our nation be destroyed by war, pestilence, economic collapse or some other judgement? Why will ye put this off and not respond? Do you not know that the very hope of a future for our children and grandchildren is now at stake?
#1 Identify that these EPIDEMICS are happening because we have sinned against the Lord. The sin must be made known; sorrowed over; confessed and put away from us.
#2 A time of gathering to come together and be before the Lord to plead and seek Him together. There should be one or several major corporate gatherings in areas; but followed by weekly, monthly times of local gatherings for what is happening and what will happen if we prevail not.
#3 broken and contrite, fasting and weeping for where we are and what has happened on our watch.
#4 plead with Him for mercy, revival, deliverance and forgiveness while there is still time
