Greetings,
". . . that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray: but he shall not prevail." Isaiah 16:12
We come to the close of our year, 2019. We are ready to begin Saturday, with our 100 Hours of Prayer, to close out the year and begin the new year. But none of this is important, if this phrase from this verse is true of us, that we prayed, but we did not prevail. We have seen in 2019, and in previous years the rise of more and more evil upon our land and coming forth from the minds and hearts of men. Evil, that 20 - 30 years ago, we never even imagined would be happening, is happening. And it is now that 2020 may be one of the most pivotal years of our nation, of our lives and of the church. Therefore, we are now at the place of PREVAIL OR FAIL!
Religions and religionists pray all the time. False religions pray more, and sometimes more vehemently than Christians and the Lord's church. But they offer prayers and petitions to an unknown god, and there prayers are never heard, and neither do they prevail for what they are asking. Multitudes of Scriptures tell us that due to numerous reasons, the Christian and the church may pray, but they will not be heard, nor prevail either. And this call to pray for 100 hours is not about a sustained prayer time, nor is it to see how many people will participate. Nor is it to feel religiously "Pharisaical" about such a prayer time. It is the most urgent time and therefore it is to enter your designated prayer time, to pray so as to prevail.
Jacob wrestled with the angel and prevail. And the angel said, 'you have prevailed with God and with man". I want you to pray for your designated time with this mandate, to prevail with God and over man. I want you to know, that just as Jacob learned, it is not a simple gesture of offering a prayer, but we are praying against and fighting against "principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." This kind can come forth but by "prayer and fasting". It will require of you to grit your teeth with determination to prevail with fervency; with urgency, for it is an emergency upon the land. And God is the only One Who can help us.
When you see evil advancing; when you see souls perishing; hell "enlarging itself to accommodate the multitudes going in thereat"; when you see addictions in every home and family; when you see death and murders at record highs; when you see murder-suicides and suicides at record highs; it is not time to simply say a prayer. But it is a time to pray to prevail for the Lord's right hand to stretch forth and save, and deliver and heal and bless, and help for His Own name sake.
You have been given the prayer focus to help you, especially to those that are not as used to praying for an hour, on your own. Prayer focus is 3 areas:
1. Worship - Names of God; attributes of God, Scriptures of God; deeds, promises, works of God; It's all about God. Estimated time is 10 - 15 minutes.
2. Confession - stated sins of our nation, specific sins of the church, of our families and our own personal hearts and lives; coming before Him with sorrow for all that has provoked Him and angered Him due to our failure; Estimated time is 10 - 15 minutes;
3. Petitions/Supplications/Intercessions - a cry; definitely where the wrestling will happen against the spiritual warfare; for lost souls; for revival among and upon God's people; for the kingdoms work to be finished in 2020; advancement of His kingdom, retreat of Satan's kingdom; Estimated time 30 - 40 minutes;
And so I ask of you to take with you my hearts passion for these days ahead, that we pray so as to prevail! Satan will come to distract, to disrupt and to discourage. Flesh will fail; but pray so as to prevail. For remember, what is at stake for the new year! Everything! Eternity! WE need God like never before and there is no other plan, method, machinery, gidgets or gizmos that we need; we just need God.
Leonard Ravenhill said, "If you have God, you don't need anything else; if you don't have God, you need everything else." We just need God to come in fullness upon His people. And when the people of God are full of the Spirit of God, the Word of God will go forth to do the business of God. For as the church goes, as you and I go, so goes the nation.
Brethren, give yourselves to pray!
The hour is late, the need is great; pray so as to prevail!
