Greetings,
"and what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?" Job 21:15
In Job chapter 21, verse 13, it is said of those that are against God, that they simply spend their days in money and on self and then they die. And in verse 14 - 15 these lost sinners are rebellious and obstinate in their surrender and worship of God. They depart from Him, they have no desire of knowledge of Him. Then in verse 15 they question why they should serve Him and why they should pray unto Him. All of these verses are descriptions of the wicked, of lost sinners against Him. Yet, there are numerous representations within the church today of the same statements. Our concern is this question posed at the end of verse 15, 'What profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?"
Why pray? What a question to be asked by God's people. It is clearly understandable that a lost, heathen would not want to pray, nor desire to pray. For they are taught to look to man, to look to self and rely on earthly venues, rather than heavenly venues. But why would the church ask this question? Why would they hinder prayer, when it is a clear spiritual discipline, and our greatest weapon of warfare?
Is their profit in prayer? answer the question with Scripture, testimonies and personal experience:
In direct answers to prayer, God does the following: saves souls; heals sick; delivers chain bound addicts; removes attacks; is victorious; overcomes evil; grants provisions; gives desires of heart; brings His Presence to His people; ushers in Manifest Presence - Revival upon His people; ushers in spiritual awakening - salvation of masses to Christianity; overthrows hell and its agendas; changes history; sets forth His will and ways; restores holiness; etc.
What happens when prayer does not happen: souls go to hell; diseases increase and claims lives; minds and hearts are evil affected; homes are destroyed; evil increases, wickedness prevails; hell advances; sin abounds; Satan and hell dictate future; fruit of righteousness withers up; fruits of wickedness flourish; churches languish; false religion increases; trails, tribulations are faced alone; heartaches and headaches increase with no reprieve; etc.
When the Christian, when the church allows for other things to remove prayer, remove prayer times, secret closet prayer times and corporate prayer times, hell advances and heaven is stymied. It is a clear teaching in the Scripture and history, that God works directly in relationship to the prayers of His people. The failure of His people to pray greatly impacts the current plight of man, families, churches and directly impacts the future of our nation and these same places. Why would we ever consider decreasing prayer times!
Yet, Satan knows these same truths, which somehow seems at times, are oblivious to the Christian and church. But Satan sets out to do what we see today; remove prayer times from God's people; to make God's house of prayer something other than what He intended. Satan does this by distractions and disruptions. And he has done a masterful job in getting Christians and the church to lose its most powerful weapon of spiritual warfare - prayer. Reclaim our lost weaponry before it it too late.
Therefore it is imperative that we answer this question and resolve to not allow for, "Why Pray", to become our life style or testimony, "God's people refuse to pray". Let that be named among the heathen, but let it not be named among us. Everything is at stake for the new year. the increase over these last years, yea, this last decade has now reached EPIDEMIC proportions of death, dying, desolation and destruction. And it must be understood, that this happened, because God's people refused to pray. In the SBC alone, over 85% of churches, groups, entities, do not have 1 hour of corporate prayer within a months time. Now do they Pray? Yes. But prayer is so minimal, it is barely done. One cannot prevail with such a weak state of prayer. This must change.
We are not at the point of no return for our nation, future and the state of the church. We are now at the point of PREVAIL OR FAIL. And I have adopted this going into the close of this year, and into the new year. Thus, we are holding a 100 hours of straight prayer for our nation and the church. This is in agreement with the call for Concerts of Prayer to be done each month. The concerts of prayer are a set day and time for fasting and prayer; and with a call within the first week of the month to employ corporate hours of prayer.
Why pray? Because everything depends on it within God's grace and mercy. and without it, we are sure to perish as a nation, as families, or our future; and for the sake of our own relationship with the Lord. Brethren! PRAY!!
1. 100 Hours of Prayer to close out 2019 and begin 2020; Dec. 28, 8 AM (EST) - Jan. 1 Noon (EST); please promote and be a part of 1/2 hour slots or full hour slots to pray for our nation and church;
2. Concerts of Prayer has gone out for SBC state executives to embrace and employ this set time of fasting and prayer for our secret closets and corporate settings for our churches, associations and states. Each month a set time of prayer and fasting for our nation and the church. Promote and be a part of this needful time for our new year.

Prayer Targets:
--suicides & murder-suicides - this is much on my heart and mind in prayer; increase in numbers, last week 3 on military bases that are known of; over 100 suicides each day in US; great assault on minds and hearts by evil one; prayer - "Deliver them from evil (evil One)" - EPIDEMIC;
--disease - increased numbers of death due to resistant staff infection; record, historic numbers - EPIDEMIC;
--state of the church for the close of this year, heading into new year; greater pursuit of holiness, righteousness and faithfulness; too much is being left undone; record lows of baptisms, church attendance, prayer, bible reading/study, evangelism, all signs of our deep sin against the Lord; must be time of restoration & repentance;
--police officers shot & killed this month on the rise, after several months of quietness;
--drug & alcohol deaths, affects & bondage;
--children - abuse, neglect, sex trafficking - EPIDEMIC;
--new year - 2020 - will be a year unlike we have ever seen before on our current status; all of our remedial judgements are at EPIDEMIC status and we could see a overflow of God's wrath against our nation in unprecedented& precedented ways of economy, war, death;
--natural disasters are happening world wide, yet remain somewhat quiet here in the states; I look for this to change soon. I believe all points of our life, will be impacted without a proper response from God's people.
Updates:
--bible readings up through Psalms; word study - rise:
--The Activity of God - Proverbs; amazed at how many chapters already in Proverbs that have no activity of God; very limited activity of God in this book; making up ground as Psalms bogged me down for so long;
--A Word - Isiah 61; starting and finishing verses last two days; have not been able to go back to chapter 60 and finish off these verses;
--thank you for your prayers that I have requested, I was able to finally get some things done on close of the year 100 hours of prayer and Concerts of Prayer;
--100 Hours of Prayer has been sent out; roughly 30 - 40 slots filled; hoping to go over 60 - 70 by beginning of week;
--Concerts of Prayer invite was sent out to 35 SBC state executives and workers; a few have responded with interest; to get 6 or 7 states embracing and employing this would be a huge ground swell for the church and the new year; continue to pray for this;
--sermons are live streamed on facebook; have not uploaded them to youtube page this month;
