Greetings,
"What God is about to do He sheweth unto Pharaoh" Genesis 41:28
". . was doubled. . . it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass." Genesis 41:32
". . . they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?" Genesis 42:28
One of the Names of God and His attribute is "Immutable"; the God that changes not. (Malachi 3:6) He is consistent with His ways and will throughout all of history toward man, nations and His church. It is not a mystery what has happened, is happening or will happen. God has spoken and revealed His Divine will; 'what God is about to do, He has showed us'. And when things are happening in the nations, the homes, the hearts and the houses of God; 'He has established it and it will shortly come to pass". Our responsibility is to know what God has said and what God has revealed. This is done through Bible reading, study and meditation. This is done through long hours alone with God. This is done by listening to God and not trying to always be speaking. God is a revealer of the thoughts and intents of His heart and mind; and He reveals what is the thoughts and intents of men.
There are numerous examples of this in the Bible for us to understand this. For example:
1. Here in Genesis 41 - God revealed about the 7 years of plenty and the 7 years of famine;
2. God revealed to Isaiah the prophet to tell Hezekiah that he was going to die; God knew that Hezekiah would seek more time on earth and that out of this would come Manasseh.
3. Christ revealed over and over to the disciples what awaited for Him and them when they got to Jerusalem;
4. Paul and the brethren were made aware by Agabus and others what was going to happen to Paul if he went to Jerusalem;
5. Elisha revealed to the king of Israel what the king of Assyria was planning to take his armies too;
On and on goes the examples of 'what God is about to do He has revealed'. Therefore when men ask, 'What has God done this to us for?" They are reflecting that they have not been alone with God, or heard from God. Now it may be that God has not revealed all that is to be or will be. but a Christian with great faith whether he knows or not, has faith in God. 'shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" And he answers in the affirmative every time, 'Yes He will." Job did not know why God was allowing this, but he said, 'though You slay me, yet will I trust in You." Great faith!
The Lord has revealed to us about remedial judgements and revival. They go hand in hand. The one usually leads to the other. Numerous examples in history of each preceding the other one. And it could be argued, that they are never simultaneous. But the point is, God has revealed what He is doing; what He has made known to us for the sins of our nation and the sins of the church. these must be dealt with lest we approach to the point of God saying, 'you have forsaken Me, therefore I will forsake you.'
Much rather is the point that these remedial judgements are God's way of telling us what has provoked Himself. If the church dealt with the sin, the removal of self and returned to their first love, God would return in power to His people. But so long as the church thinks they can have the best of both worlds, they will never flourish in the spiritual, only in the earthly. And if they continue in the earthly, like we are presently, then God will give us up to our own ways that lead to death, destruction and desolation.
But this much I'm am sure of. Remedial judgement are sent to awaken and stir us up to seek Him. And God has birthed within so many that we share a kindred heart and appetite for revival. And I often ask, 'why would God give this hunger for revival among so many, if He did not intend to bestow it?' Yet, God is immutable; He changes not. and no matter how many have this desire, if they fail to forsake their sin, if they fail to seek Him, if they fail to obey Him, revival will never come. It will only be that which is the worst among any period of time or person, 'What Might Have Been".
Holiness must be priority; sin must be abhorred; prayer must be done - in the secret closet; among small groups and corporately; and the acceptance of God's will and way no matter what unfolds. It might be reprieve; it might be revival; it might be persecution; but no matter what it is that 'Why has God done this unto us" may it be for the glory of His great Name sake.
Brethren, I ask you where you are right now in your personal pursuit of God. Are you read up in the Word? are your knees chapped with being on your knees before Him? Have you shared the Gospel faithfully each week with lost sinners? Do you know what God has revealed for you and your family in your obedience or disobedience?
God, Who is the revealer of things to be meet you and me. And no matter what He reveals or does, He is worthy of our love and praise. Accept and trust and have faith His ways are perfect and right. May it only be said, that we was faithful to Him as HE is faithful to us!
Prayer Targets:
It is a constant, sometimes to me, seems like 'broken record', it is the epidemics of prayer targets before me. I have not listed them, but they are a continual prayer need, and concerns.
1. Drugs/Alcohol - deaths, destruction, overdoses, lostness; chained and bound by Satan, sin and self; Prayers are to the breaking of the hold.
2. Natural Disasters - watched and following news on Dorian; the aftermath on Bermuda is in great need; more to come in hurricanes; earthquakes for almost 2 weeks have been hoovering around 70, but slight increase last few days; but no 7.0 or greater recently; populated areas vs. un-populated areas; the other thing that is a constant now is the volcanoes eruptions; With Dorian the major focus and record setting storm, the wildfires in Brazil, Africa, Alaska and Siberia are unnoticed. But they continue.
3. Plagues - cancer; Ebola - almost 3000 cases; over 2000 deaths; 1 new case in Uganda; meaning or fearing spreading to other surrounding nations; Burundi - malaria outbreak, over 1800 dead; Bangladesh & Philippines - Dengue fever, 100's dead;
4. LGBT - continued assault by this evil rise in immorality and the attack on Christians and the church that stands against it; Simply put, its good vs. evil; right vs. wrong; minds and hearts evil affected is where this battle is won or lost;
5. Mass Shootings, Suicides, Murder-suicides and homicides - filling the land with blood; all of these are acts of evil that Satan is allowed to do to our nation at this time, because of Ichabod; it is the reprobate minds being turned loose to kill and be killed, it is death and destruction and desolation to those left in its wake; and as the land is filled with its blood, coupled with abortion blood and deaths, God says, 'I see and hear the blood crying out to Me, I will repay - blood for blood';
6. Children - neglect, abuse, sexual abuse and what this means for the next generation; HOrrible thoughts run with this and where it is leading us. An entire generation void of God; an entire generation abused, physically, verbally and sexually; an entire generation raised to repeat the same behavior and deepen the crisis against the next generation.
