Greetings,
"O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!" Job 16:21
"Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of Thy ways." Job 21:14 (from Job)
"Which said unto God, Depart from us, and what can the Almighty do for them?" Job 22:17 (from Job's friend, Eliphaz)
What a contrast!
One is pleading with God for man; the other is pleading for God to depart. Is this not our day? How many are saying to God through words and actions, 'God, depart from us'. And how awful when God says, 'Granted.' Ichabod becomes the standard. when people are asking, "what's going on in our nation? why so many suicides? why so many murder-suicides? homicides? mass shootings?" etc. Herein is the answer. God has granted to our nation that which they have requested, 'Depart from us, God. We do not desire any knowledge of you."
And how much worse when there are symptoms of this same folly found within the churches. They don't know God, and they don't know the Word of God. Ichabod upon the churches. As Tozer said, 'if the church's Christianity was a poison, it wouldn't be enough to harm any one.' WE have so little power, so little Presence, so little passion for knowing God. How does this change? By a man laying hold of God and pleading like never before. As Jacob, wrestling with the Angel, and not letting go, till He blessed him. 'Thou hast prevailed with God and with man.' And here is the cry of my heart, and of many of you, 'O that one might plead for man with God'.
this is intercession. EM Bounds - 'its one thing to talk to men for God; but its greater to talk to God on behalf of men.' How often I catch myself saying in prayer, 'Lord, I pray for those who will not pray for themselves.' Pleading for those that do not acknowledge God, do not trust Him, do not know Him. But oh, how He knows them. How much greater brethren, to lay hold of the horns of the altar and refuse to let go, till God speaks from His throne, 'Granted.' Yes, they cry out, 'depart from us'; we cry out, 'come to us'.
And he who prevails in these requests and statements before God, prevails for the future and the day. Brethren, what are you pleading for? Who are you interceding for? Yes, I know so many plead for their loved ones, and their little remote back yard. And well we should. but I tell you greater is it for he who pleads with God for that which God sees and hears. Who is pleading for the nations? for the future? for the church world wide? for the innocent?
Oh brethren, long have I sought for this spirit of prayer and pleading with God. Still learning, still growing. but God has ordained for prayer to be the means of His children/child, for His church to prevail in this world. A prayerless people will not prevail over these that are pleading with God to 'depart from us'. This is the plight of our nation and the church. The sin of prayerlessness is great upon us. I seek, and join with many of you , the remnant, to prevail through this month and close this year with great power by prevailing with Him. I want to thank you to those that support me, pray for me, and our heart cries are one. I thank God for you. Continue on brethren. . .
'the hour is late, and the need is great; pray so as to prevail.'
EPIDEMICS:
1. Drugs - after the record year of deaths from drug overdose last year - 70,000 +, 2018 deaths should be down, still foresee over 50,-000; But use has increased and long term affects and laws legalizing its use will finish what the wide spread crisis has started. The other stats that are continue to come out the last month is the deadly sin of ALCOHOL. Over 88,000 deaths related to this. 3X the deaths for younger women and their drinking; a combination of over 150,000 deaths due to this sin and the epidemic upon us for our failure to be pure and undefiled.
2. Cancer - lists of names and conditions are up to almost 20; marvellous answered prayers, but also continued life & death situations; treatments, recovery; Affecting near and far, all around, every church, every family.
3. Great Evil - its been quiet; several school mass shooting averted - Glory!! But murder-suicides are up. Greater evil is to come, as we near the end of the year. Possibly a school shooting or mass shooting in public place. London - england is seeing the same thing, except not with guns and shooting, but with knife attacks this year. Dozens, don't have exact count but over 100 deaths easily. This continues much like our shootings.
chicago - more than likely will hit 600 homicides this year; close to 2 deaths per day;
Baltimore - to hit over 300; that's 1 per day;
Other cities fit into this cycle of blood shed and death. the land is filled with blood to atone for.
4. LGBT - Utah, Jan. 1, will impose public schools to recognize whatever sex a child desires. Any bathroom, shower us will be tolerated. This will be enlarged to other states and ultimately national policy; this is why Obama introduced this before leaving office. Defeats on many fronts, but their persistence continues.
5. Children - Abuse, neglect, & void; Yemen seeing 100,000 children die from famine; Abortion; grandparents raising almost 60% of children in our nation today. Parents are in jail, dead, abandoned then, or unfit. Foster care overloaded. court cases beyond help.
6. Natural Disasters - continued storms; 7.0 earthquake in Alaska; still disaster areas in FL & GA & NC; around the world, incredible extreme weather - flooding in desert n Middle East; strong storms; 7.5 in south pacific
Things watching - economy; war; pestilence/plague;

--the activity of prayer among SBC papers that I sent out to show numerically that we are under 15% that are engaged in corporate prayer per month has fallen on deaf ears; the suggested helps to remedy this for the new year has not been responded to by one person; Thus the pattern will continue. More than likely I will write another attempt at the beginning of the year to see if any changes, suggestions or implementations are done. Nobody wants an acitvity over holidays. From middle of November through the first of the year, all things halt for Christmas. ITs a bad pattern, for Satan doesn't take time off.
