Greetings,
Last week Gov. Justice shared that he would be calling the national guard to help in Huntington, WV, with the issues they are facing. Huntington has long been on my prayer targets for years. In the past we saw the rise in the death rate due to drugs. Then came the news that new borns were filling the hospitals with babies being born addicted to drugs. And that usually the mothers of these babies OD in death, babies were removed from them, or they were in jail. Creating another round of issues for foster care, state care and charity groups of how they would meet this need for the influx of increased numbers of such babies with high special needs and homes. The church, largely has not met or discussed this ministry need to my knowledge.
Now in the midst of Huntington, we see what is reported as increase in gang activity, no doubt linked to the drugs. Followed by this war of gangs an increase in homicides for this city in the past year.
Let us pray in agreement for our brothers and sisters in Christ there, the churches and their families being impacted. Such activity of evil knows no boundaries, as we have see, schools, churches, homes, and streets are all open game for their evil activity. These require of us to pray for protection, deliverance from evil, Divine outreach, and a Spirit of overcoming of evil (Remembering, that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world). Pray for this evil to be stopped by the witness of the church. And realize that it is Huntington now, but tomorrow may be our city, streets or places.
'Brethren, pray one for another".
These issues are not remote to Huntington, but they are prevalent in all the US cities. Long have I prayed against the evil in Chicago of the homicide death rate at record numbers. This year Chicago, will be close to 700 murders or over. You are being asked to consider praying against the evil affecting our streets, homes, younger generation and the causes behind it. Most may be in ignorance of these issues, but they are very real and escalating.
Coupled with the homicide rate, is the other issue that I have shared and been in prayer against in 'Murder-suicides'. I can think of no greater pain and sorrow than when this happens and affects the family, and the community. the church must often be asked to step in and help in these moments of crisis. The escalation of this judgement is seen in multiple ways from the private home, to public school shootings. They commit the act of evil of killing, generally loved ones and then take their own lives after the fact. This evil has long been increasing in our nation. We are given the great privilege to pray 'deliver them from evil, or from the Evil One' who affects their minds and leads them to do such horrible acts of evil.
We have seen throughout this year our nation be afflicted with wave after wave of natural disasters. Affecting all regions of our nation through hurricanes, floods, fires and disasters. Gifts, workers, Disaster Relief efforts are at an all time high to meet the needs caused from this record disasters. The physical needs are present at hand for the basics of life. The spiritual needs to why these things are happening at record needs must also be addressed. The physical and the spiritual are one and the same and must both be addressed and tended too.
The family: never has there been such an assault on the home and marriage than what we have sen the last 10 years. Divorce, adultery, rebellion, lostness, all are apart of our society and churches today. All have seen the pain and demise that comes from these things within the family, the home and the church. Our nations has passed laws which are contrary to the Word of God of man and woman to be married in the eyes of God; to allowing homosexual couples, adoption of children by mixed couples and causing the greater provoking of the Lord to anger. The church has been docile, apathetic in it response to these evils. All but permitting and allowing them by our inactivity to strive to be holy and maintain holiness in and around us. There is a heavy price to pay for this allowance of evil in our land and within the church.
The church: the great need is revival; The Divine Soveriegn act of God to come down and make all the wrongs right by the power of His Holy Spirit and Divine Presence. The labor of prayer by the remnant is seeking this. Greater moments of prayer and fasting are being heralded and is an encouraging sign. But the greater need is to realize that next year the Supreme Court decision of cake shop vs. Colorado will have huge implications for religious freedom. If the Supreme Court rules that private business cannot operate according to its religious beliefs, and that it will be a federal issue of speaking, or any other acts against homosexuals, transgenders, etc. they will come into the church demand the same. The LBGT agenda is steam rolling city councils, board of educations and will not relent to they silence the church.
These 3 areas of prayer needs are before us for the close of this year and into the New Year. May we 'continue in prayer' and go deeper in our prayer lives as individuals, families and the church. The perils of our nation, state, cities and homes hangs in the balances. And we have the great venue of prayer to prevail for this our day.
thank you for giving time to these prayer targets,
until,
dan biser
