ACTIVITY OF GOD - GENESIS 1

August, 2016

One of the means to worship in prayer time, is simply to state what God has done in Scripture.  His actions are always the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  It is a hard thing to document every action of God in Scripture.  Most know only the basics of His activity for us and for His glory.
Found in Genesis chapter 1 is a great example of understanding, seeing and knowing the activity of God on our behalf.  Let us examine a few of these actions and learn to convert them into recognition of Who He is and what He is able to do.  Thereby worshipping and adoring Him.

The Nine Activities of God in chapter 1

God Created. . .

What did God create?  We know in this first chapter He spent six days creating all that is.  He created it for His glory.  As a product of this creation, you and I are allowed to live, move and have being in this world of His creation.  He created us, gave us life.  AS expressed in chapter 2 He made man and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.  Found within us, as His creation is the breath of life (the spirit), the soul and the body.  He created the heavens and the earth and all that is therein.  Look at the power, the vision, the majesty of the universe and His creation and sit in awe of its wonders

God created time.  He stepped out and said, 'let time begin'  We keep time by the earths orbitting of the sun; of the rise and set of the sun for day and night.  God created the beginning of our existence out of nothing.  Who else but God can create out of nothing?! There is none.

God Moved. . .

The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  James Stewart contemplated what He was doing while engaged in this activity.  For no activity of God is vain, but all for His purposes and glory  Stewart said He was birthing our redemption and His kingdoms glory.
The Spirit is still moving today.  He moved upon us to bring conviction and conversion.  He moves upon us to sanctify us.  He has moved in great ways of the church throughout to bring revivals and manifestations of His power and Presence.
God Saw. . . .

God saw all that He did and was pleased  God sees all today, do you think He is pleased?  God sees your life and heart,my life and heart; is He pleased?  Can He say of us, In you I a well pleased?  God sees beyond the here and now.  Too many of us are fixed on the temporal, God sees eternally.  God sees it all of yesterday, today and tomorrow  There is no limitation to His ability to see.

He sees beyond the superficial and sees into the intent of the heart  He knows the motive of why we do what we do.  God saw us before the foundation of the world and knew what that intent of our life would be; for Him or against Him.  He saw what Judas would be; He saw what Pharoah would be; He saw what Abraham would be.  It is said of Abraham that God knew, God saw that he would command his children after him.

And God saw all this before the creation of the world and knew just how it would all be.  This is God's omnipresence; God's omniscience; God's omnipotence.  And even though we cannot see yet we abide faithfully in Him Who saw us before the world was.  He saw us and loved us and called us His Own.

God Divided. . ..

What great power to divide light from darkness; to divide land from water; to divide firmament from waters beneath.  What a great and powerful God that can divide good from evil.  Can divide sheep from goats and know them which are His.

God Called. . .

God Made. . . .

God Blessed. . . .

God Said. . . .

God Set. . . .
