When God Looks Down, What Does He see?
March 30, 2017
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars." II Chronicles 16:9
Greetings,
There is a wave of evil arising on the horizon of our future. One of which could easily match the tsunami's that took 1,000's of lives in a moment. They could not see it forming, they were not aware, yet it still came and in a moment, suddenly, it was upon them. I am wondering from church leaders, especially SBC, and prayer leaders if you see what's coming?
This morning I have received one email asking for prayer from FRC, Pierre Bynum about the North Carolina legislature getting ready to overturn the transgender bathroom bill for public access. My own state, WV senate has voted to approve hunting on Sunday, WV distilleries ( moon shine) to be sold on Sunday's and the use of marijuana. How much evil will we allow to be legislated into our states and nation and cities before we cry out to the Lord? In the above verse of II Chronicles we are told that the Lord is watching all these things. He is waiting for His people to look to Him and cry out for help. I fear we have done this too little.
In light of what we are facing, let us take a moment to remember how we got here:
--1933 Billy Sunday and other Christian leaders got the use of acohol to be outlawed in 1920; yet the evil of man found a way to bootleg and continue consumption, sale and use; was overturned in 1933;
--1963 one little old contrary lady didn't want her son to hear the Bible read on public school intercom and she got the nation legalize and separate from God and the Bible; Supreme Court legalizes separation of church and state;
--1973 abortion, the murder of innocent babies was legalized for the nation and now 60 million babies blood is on this generation of the church;
--2013 homosexuality is legalized by the Supreme Court as the law of the land;
Can you not see that every evil that God said, 'I abhor this", 'This is an abomination" "I will hold you accountable" that we have legalized in our nation? And most of this evil has been in our generation. How much do we have to answer for!! God is watching and seeing our actions, reactions and lack of action!
This rise of evil in our society is being criminally legalized in ways that none of us would have imagined 20 years ago. But the very soul of our nation is steamrolling to hell, and it will claim this generation and sink the next one into hell. If we think this day and hour is bad and evil, what do you think it will look like in 5 years? 10 Years? I don't think we will make it past that time frame, unless the Lord restrains His wrath.
The conclusion of this verse found the condemnation of the king of Judah looking to man and himself for help and answers. The king of Judah and the people of Judah should have known better, but they weren't. And what of the church? Does God see us looking to Him for help? or looking to our next ingenious methods, means and man for help? Let us look to the Lord in view of our current crisis. Over in II Chronicles 20:12, 'they looked to the Lord and He was intreated with them to help them". Is He not willing to do the same for us, as His bride today? We are running out of time brethren.
I implore with the following appeal:
--yesterday in Texas there was a church bus crash that killed 13 of those members; tragic, sorrowful and heartrending; I watched SBC leaders across the board as well as other Baptist brethren express their prayers and sorrow. (As well they should, I am only using this as example to make the point of this hour of urgency.) But I am wondering where is the roll call for the churches, states conventions and pastors in the light of this alarming trend of legislating evil? Is it not as critical, and crucial?
In the wave of the prayer movement for revival and spiritual awakening, there has been an increase of talk and gatherings for prayer. In light of our most urgent, fervent and emergency hour is it not time to express prayers and sorrow for what is and what is to be? We are so prone to express prayers and sorrow after the tragic event. What if we sought to be preventive and sorrowful before the Lord before the event of judgment and wrath? If we sought Him, for Him to work on behalf of His Name sake and we, His people. If we cried out for Him to push back the tsunami of evil flooding our nation, homes, minds and souls of all our population.
These are days of evil and they require from you leaders a unified response that makes us seek His face and call upon His Name. We can't go on like this and not expect Him to meet us in wrath! Must we lose the whole nation and fall under peril before we respond rightly before Him. He is watching and waiting for us, respond and lead!
I propose as a suggestive response:
1. immediate days of prayer by the pastors, churches and prayer groups; Specific days and gatherings; The issues and urgency of this hour must be put before them. These are physical issues of laws and people but with huge eternal and spiritual conditions.
2. a fast to be called for once or twice a month; The first Monday of the month along with corporate prayers is what ushered the first Great Awakening. I see no reason why we couldn't follow their example. Too long we have been without a fast proclamation for all the church to be a part.
3. this is a constant barrage of issues, actions and needs. There are many happenings, almost to much to be kept up with. ERLC, FRC and other groups are supposed to be adapting to this. so a statement, updates and such for prayer groups to put before the Lord as we pray; some specifically, others generally for the requests against evil.
4. where possible, and as possible, regional, state and as many can gather for monthly prayer times to do so, in light of the advancement of evil; We know that we are simply suggesting such responses an actions. And I am confident that if the appeal of the hour of emergency is presented the response will follow. Every hour of our delay allows for hell to take more souls and claim more ground.
Brethren, our God is able. In a moment to undo this evil. He is waiting for us to respond before Him. Will you respond? I beseech you, my beloved, help me in this hour, before its too late!
"Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me int he day of His fierce anger." Lamentations 1:12
