A REAL AUTHENTIC WORK OF GOD

A Real Authentic Work of God in Our Days

There is a governing rule among the church of Christians today that determines whether it is truly a work of God or not -- THE TEST OF TIME.  Far too many having professed Christ as Lord and Savior, entered into the waters of baptism, only to depart from the faith.  Paul speak of several of these, 'Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world'.  Now one may argue that Demas simply forsook Paul and not the Lord Jesus Christ.  Yet, when one looks that he had chosen the world over the apostle, choosing the world is strictly condemned in I John 2:15 - 17.  But this is not to trifle over such things, but to examine and adhere to what is absoloutely necessary today, 'A REal Authentic Word of God'.

There are those that having begun their course on that straight and narrow way, have struggled and fallen, only to rise back up and begin again in pursuit of Christ.  Far too many in church leadership have done a disservice to the Lord by proclaiming for the Lord what the Lord has not done; and secondly, using the means of humanism to accomplish what only the Lord could do.  They attribute the growth of the church numbers, the number of baptisms, yet the Lord is not in it.  Do you remember the encounter of God to Elijah in the mouth of the cave as he ran from Jezebel?
"And He said, go forth; and stand upon the mount before the Lord.  And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountain, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was no in the wind:  and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire" (I Kings 19)

the following is an attempt for us to "Consider our ways" (Haggai 1).  Let us not be found guilty of the following:
1.  let us not give great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme His great Name; (II Samuel 12);
2. let us not  use worldly means to do what only the Spirit can do in salvation and growth of the church;
3. let us not prefer carnal over spiritual;
4. let us not seek humanism as first priority in place of God's right hand;

Let us answer the Biblical questions to demonstrate that we are not guilty of the above but in right relationship with the Lord.  For the real proof of all this that it is done by God and not by man, is that there is nothing like a real authentic work of God.  And the works of God withstand and stand in the midst of men as testimony for all time.  God added daily to the church, such as should be saved. (Acts).  And in this we see that the saving of the soul of man is found in God and God alone.

"Is the Lord among us or not?" (Exodus 17)  For if the Lord is not among us, how then can men be saved?  If the Lord is not among us, how then can we withstand the tidal wave of hell and evil?  It is absolutely imperative that the church and each Christian know that the Lord is with us and for us.  Most of the church is not cognitive enough of spiritual matters to ask this question and seek the proof of His hand and Presence among us.  But it is the leading point of this that bothers me most.

If the Lord is not among us then we will seek something less than God to do the work of the church.  If the Lord is not among us, then we will seek our means and methods for the saving of souls.  And herein lies the line that is crossed by the church to be satisfied with something less than what is absolute needed.

"How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him."  (I Kings 18)

such questions as these put us to the litmus test of whether we are looking to the Lord for help and answers or are we looking to man, governments, religion and our own right arm.

Is the Lord among us or not?
The answer to this question will determine the fruit and results.  when men are looking to themselves they care not whether the Lord is among them or not.  but a true servant of the Lord, asks this question first.  For they know the ramifications if the Lord is not with them; there can be no advancement for His kingdom.
