PRAYER BLOG - JUNE 7

Greetings,

"Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David:  thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail.  So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place."  I Samuel 26:25

Coming through Bible readings and this verse has often spoke to me of my life, prayer life and future.  Saul hates David, the evil spirit drives him every day, for the Spirit of the Lord had withdrawn Himself from Saul.  But David is the anointed one, and 'the Lord was with him whithersoever he went'.   In this one verse, there is the contrast of everything in our spiritual walk, and eternal destination of our own souls and those that we know.

For every Christian, like David, that has the Spirit upon them, they walk with Him and for Him.  Each day you pursue His Presence and seek to please Him.  The two things that Saul pronounced over David is things that we should consider:

1.  'thou shalt do great things' - not great things in this life that brings us accolades, nor great things of vanity, or that would bring us pride;  But we seek to do great things for His kingdom, for His Name sake.  We seek to do great things that matter for eternity.  Holiness, prayer, faith, are a few of these things.  All the great saints, the Lord raised up to do great things by Him through faith and prayer and holiness.  And they leave a great biography that testifies of these great things, that we stand in awe of them by saying, 'Look what the Lord did'.  Our priorities are all about His glory and eternal purpose.

Understanding this is so important in our priorities and purpose of life here and now.  What are you doing?  Why are you doing it?  Is it for His glory?  Such questions we must ask and examine about our life.  Far too many in the church and Christianity are living and dying for nothing;  for vanity, for self.   Paul said, 'spend and be spent for the cause of the kingdom'.   I know men that are spending and being spent for worldly fame, achievement and self.   These things are vanity and shall be cast away and burnt up.

2.   'and shalt prevail'  Prevail at what?  The saint, like David, was to prevail for the kingdom of God as and when he became king.  He prevailed greatly for the Lord during his days.  May we all have that said of us, that we prevailed for our future, for His Name sake.  May we prevail and strive to do that in our lifetime for His glory.  However, how much we are prevailing; and, how much is happening has been much on my mind.  At the end of way, with the Christian experience that we are living now, is it prevailing?  As the flood of evil surges in this, our time, are we prevailing?  for such a time now on our watch as evil is swallowing our nation whole, Is this prevailing?

but much more in reference to this phrase is the word 'prevail' used in regards to our prayer life.  "Pray so as to prevail" -- there is much praying today;  false religions pray more than Christians.  Many religious folk pray much as well to ease their conscience.   Far too many of our churches are not 'houses of prayer'  Can we prevail as the church when this is so?   And far too many saints confess, 'I know I should pray';  'prayer is the least thing I do in ministry'.   Is this prevailing?   Do not the two go together, Thou shalt do great things and prevail -- when you prevail in prayer and holy alliance with the Lord.

3.  David went his way; Saul went his way.  IN this contrast is the eternal purpose and question answered.  David to be king, and the line of Christ; greatly beloved of the Lord;  Saul to death, defeat and great vanquish of soul.   David to hear, 'well done';  Saul. . . I cannot say of his soul that he entered into glory, only the Lord knows, but he did not do well; sought a witch, which is an abomination, cut off from the Lord; and I believe, more than likely cast out into hell.   Yes, Samuel said, 'tomorrow you will be with me' but I believe that was on meaning in death.

David went his way in the power of the Lord.  Saul went his way without the Lord.  Davie to continue on serving the people of God.  Saul went on and came to his end.  Brethren, which way have you gone?

PRAYER TARGETS:
This first week of June has been greatly quiet, except the volcano in Hawaii and Guatemala.   This raises great alarm in my soul.

There is great cause to rejoice, in the Supreme Court ruling regarding the cake company vs. Colorado.  Much for the church's religious freedom was involved in this secular business issue.  This victory has granted a stay to the movement of the LGBT agenda.   But know they wiill not cease;  there are 100's of other cases looming in the lower courts.   Rejoice for the answered prayer;  I have brought this before you for almost 4 years.  and we see the end result.  thank you for praying faithfully for the Lord's will to be done.

1.  On Monday and Tuesday, that spirit, (Spirit) returned to my soul that troubles me, stirs me up and sets me to pray before tragedy.   This I have shared with some of you in days gone by.   I have not felt it for a long time, but alarm bells are sounding for something coming soon.  The quiet, passivity is apart of this;   great alarm for the next remedial judgement.  I wonder as I add this in, if it is not the 2 celebrity suicides; topped with another murder-suicide.  Great evil on the minds of men.  (added 7/9)

Remember remedial judgements are sent to stir the church to recognize the sin, confess and repent of it and restore holiness that has been forsaken and blemished.  We have not done this at all!  The sin still remains, thus, the wrath of God that has been provoked still remains.  We are left to seek God for His mercy and help.  This is only done by recognition of our great sin against Him, the breaking of His Word and disobedience to His commands.  Most, I fear do not know wherein there sin lieth.  Our failure to recognize and deal with our sin with confession and repentance, only fuels the wrath of God to respond to our wickedness.  I do not know why this is so hard for men that know the Bible to understand!  Therefore, because our sins have not been dealt with, God will respond.  Greater calamity is upon our nation and upon the church soon.

2.  SBC   next week starts the convention;  this has been much on my mind and heart.   I fear, they will seek to operate within the confines of 'Robert's rules of order' to maintain control and just 'get through'.   Seeing this is the only time once a year that SBC actually gathers, it would be the greatest time to seek God, confess sin and wait before Him.  Yet, meetings, vacation, fellowship are priority and not getting right with God.   May this be a different year.

They refused to heed my pleas over the last 7 years.  Each president, each leader I spoke with and pleaded for them to seize the opportunity to make the wrongs right.  ronnie Floyd was the closest to this.  It is an opportunity, failure to respond to this opportunity is a surrender to the devil's work to be done.  We forfeit God's Divine moment to grow in Him and toward Him.   This allowance has cost us dearly.  And the repeated signs that 'the Lord is not among us' with numbers crashing, especially in baptisms should compel us to respond;  yet there is only talk, not seeking the Lord.     so now I am asking you to pray through these days; and let us watch and see what the Lord does.

3.  North Korea Summit  Also, next week the highly awaited meeting between US and North Korea is set to take place;   great things can come out of this, and allowances and news for religious freedom and Christian missions groups to get int here and bring Light where darkness has so long prevailed.   But also, Satan knows this, and he will work to bring death and destruction.   It is needful to pray over and through this;  especially knowing what is at stake.

4.  Sermonindex Conference in October;    continued prayers for each speaker, days, hosts church, simulcast receivers and Divine visitation.    With summer now upon us, time is diverted to vacations, activities, and other distractions.   Failure to wait until the end of September to pray will cost us dearly.   Pray now, so as to prevail for these things long before September gets here.
