PRAYER EMAIL - NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - 2020

Greetings,
"And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lord, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are her; lest thou be consume in the iniquity of the city.   And while he lingered. . . Escape for thy life. . lest thou be consumed."   Genesis 19: 15 - 17

"Flee from the wrath to come" was the message given to Lot and for his family.  "Get out of here lest you and your family be consumed", was the message.  And for a good part of a day, that message that he had been given was rejected.   I have no idea, and Scripture does not tell us, but he was busy about other things.   But the urgency of the matter was expressed in this phrase for our consideration today - "And while he lingered. . . ".   Why, if you knew destruction was coming, would you linger?   Why would you delay?  And yet that is what he did.

The positioning for the church today is very similar.   For over a decade, the Lord was calling to church and prayer leaders, to pastors and churches, 'Return to Me, Pray so as to prevail".   Yet, they lingered.   Remedial judgements were falling upon the nation, upon the church, upon homes and families; warnings from me and others were given,  yet the response was, 'And while they lingered'.    Increase of evil; legalizing of abominations; horrible headlines and lifestyles and choices; fewer baptisms; huge percentage of people out of church, leaving Christianity as a minority group of less than 10% of US population;  and knowing all this, what did we do - 'And while they lingered'.

And now death, destruction and desolation is upon the land, in the homes, in the minds and hearts of men, is it a time to linger?   The shut down and the plague have stirred some response; but in general, 'we still are lingering'.   Yes, the remnant is stirring, pursuing; but as always my question, 'Are we prevailing?'    Too often the confession from the pulpits, pastors and church leaders, 'my prayer times are not what they should be'.   The expression of many within the church, 'I have no prayer time.'   Why would you linger?   The very fate of all is at stake; why will you linger?

The greatest "WOE" upon the church today is to hear the message 'lest you be consumed'; 'flee from the wrath to come' and still linger as if all was well.   Souls are perishing; time is being lost; momentum is being squandered; opportunity is being past over; and priorities are being skewed away from that one thing which is most needful - PRAYER!    While we linger. . . do we not know what this is costing us?  do we not hear the command come forth?   are we content to justify our prayer times as sufficient and more than enough for what we are facing?   Consider the urgency of the hour!

IT is needful for us to confess our sin of 'lingering' while men perished; while hell advanced; and while nations forsook God - we lingered.   We linger while addictions rampage; murder is filling our streets and land with blood; and lasciviousness is growing by leaps and bounds upon the nation.   We knew all this, yet we lingered.   And at judgement day will we not wail and sorrow when the reality that we could have done something, we could have rescued them; we could have prevailed against hell -- had we not lingered.   Then while we sit and simply 'consider it';   or simply make a empty handed resolve, 'I'm going to try and do better'.  When we are far beyond empty statements; it is time to arise and being doing.   It is time to engage; it is time to quit lingering.

Needed:
--protracted meetings;  extended beyond the usually moments of prayer, to hours and nights of prayer;
--we did 'A Call for a Solemn Assembly' with outline and brief impact for what the Lord was speaking to me that needed to be addressed;   Plans are in the works for one this fall; yet, lingering and delaying is frightful to me.   Absolute immediate need for day(S) to deal with our sins, instruction to return; and wait upon Him in time before Him prostrate and humble.   Proper time must be given to deal with these things.   I fear for what I see moving in our land, men will linger in their response.
--realization of where we are and what the Lord is saying;  I still marvel that church leaders are asking 'what do you sense form the Lord'?   The Lord in His Word has already spoken on these days.   A life of holiness; cause them to know their abominations; and pray with the spirit of earnestness and fervency for whats at stake - What's at stake?  Eternity.
--dogmatic approach to embrace the Lord and wait upon Him;

Brethren, the house is late, the need is great; pray so as to prevail.   And may I add to my "Dan-ism"; "pray so as to prevail - do not linger my beloved."
