Greetings,
"Is there not a cause?" - I Samuel 17:29
"to slay David without a cause?" - I Samuel 19:5
"plead my cause" - I Samuel 24:15
Scripture verses that draw immediate response to the spiritual soul are blessed for any Christian. The word/phrase study of 'Great Questions of the Bible' are such verses that require reflection and answer. "Is there not a cause" is one of those questions and verses. This is from David in regards to Goliath's threats and blasphemy against Israel and against the Lord God. A word study from this question is the word 'cause'. And following upon this question to address 'what is the cause?' 'how is the cause' and how it affects me and our future and the church. Lastly we see the response, 'plead my cause'. Word study - cause.
1. Is there not a cause? - I have used this numerous times before. I have preached it, stirred myself up in it; taught it and meditated much on it. IT is the question to be asked of us for our day. What is our cause? is there a cause to be sought? and one to be fought for? The 'cause' is much on my thoughts and prayers these days; the cause is eternity and our future as a nation and for the next generation. The cause to fight for something is of God's Name, His kingdom 'come and His will be done' is still our cause. The cause against something is Satan, sin and hell. Failure to engage with either prompts the response of David that we have lost the purpose and motive of our existence and meaning of being. The answer to this, is to be straight forward, from God's Word and directed by the Holy Ghost to keep us on the straight and narrow. To sit in vain conversation about man's agenda and will and ways causes us to lose our primary cause of God.
2. 'without a cause' - Jonathan is speaking to the evil of Saul to kill David. Jonathan lays out before Saul of the just deeds that David has done. And that there is no cause to kill David; it is 'without a cause'. We see the warnings in the bible of those that become luke-warm; to those that grow weary; to those that lose heart; to those that sink among carnal life and forget eternal life; to those that forget or become apathetic; and to all these they become a church, a nation, a people, a person 'without a cause.'
they cannot answer the question previously asked. They cannot understand why they are here, or God's purpose, plans and will for their life. They go through routine and are found living without cause and purpose for the day or tomorrow. Satan blinds them, lies to them and deceives them (for this is what he does). It is one thing to not be able to answer, 'is there not a cause'; but it is far worse, to be without a cause.
3. "plead my cause" - And for you that have asked the question and found the answer in God; for you, who have waited and meditated before the Lord and have not lost your cause; you will plead His cause. You will be often quoting His Word, praying His prayers, praying in the Holy Ghost and pleading with fire for His kingdom come and His will be done. You will plead as if everything depended on your prayers and tears for that moment, for well you know it does. Someone will draw their last breath today and enter eternity tonight, and there in hell forever because they did not know the cause of life, they were found without a cause and they stood before God and He said, 'Depart from Me, ye worker of iniquity'.
Pleading for the cause is the 3 terms that I sense as utterly a must for the prayer movement today - pleading with fervency - urgency - emergency. Pleading for souls to 'pull them out of the fire'. Pleading for God's kingdom to advance, and for hell's kingdom to retreat. Pleading for the things on God's heart much more than the things on my/our heart. Pleading with a spiritual eye viewing eternity and the future of man's existence here on earth. Pleading for holiness among the church; pleading against sin in the camp. Pleading for homes to be delivered and redeemed; pleading against homes that pervert, abuse, and destroy lives of family.
Oh, my brethren, 'is there not a cause?' Yes, there is! then plead the cause of Christ for today. For the future of tomorrow depends on it.
Prayer Targets:
1. Unrest in Nations - I don't remember a time with so many capitals under distress. I cannot even remember them all, but will try to put them before you for these nation having protests in their streets.
--Baghdad, Iraq;
--Hong Kong;
--Santiago, Chile;
-- Paris, France;
--Madrid, Spain;
--Beirut, Lebanon;
--La Paz, Bolivia;
--Ecuador protest have seemed to come to a halt;
2. Evil - again the spiritual warfare upon us is immense; few recognize it and fewer fight against it; Two things are at the deciding point of this, minds and hearts. Pray towards that end of what is being done in men's minds and hearts that leads them to do such evil things. All actions of evil comes from this. Shootings, abuse, perversions, responses comes from evil minds and hearts that are fueled by Satan and his demons that insight men to follow through with such horrible deeds. Even now, it is being worked out in someones mind and heart to act out on such evil deeds.
3. Judgements that are upon us to bring a complete annihilation of our nation and future. This is not recognized by many among church leaders.
--birthrates are now below level to maintain population; we are dying faster than being born; and those living are dying faster than normal due to plagues of drugs, cancer, murder and other issues;
--record numbers of state that bring about this demise - suicide rates; homicide rates; abortions and birth control; STD has hit over 2 million cases, highest ever (directly from fornication and adultery) a sin which is rarely confessed and dealt with by church;
--disease is continued rampant in cancer and other plagues upon us;
--food sources are dwindling; bees, viruses, ecoli, etc. all tainting and removing our food and supplies to continue;
--disintegration of society; lack of respect for law; corruption among leaders; pride; home is obliterated;
3. Many of the first 2 prayer targets are drawn from the 6 epidemics upon our land. Continue to pray for these issues at hand and escalating.
--great evil has been some what quiet throughout this month; schools safe and mass shooting limited; However, a great surge in evil is building in God's judgement against us. I foresee that we will be devastated against shortly by death and dying.
--natural disasters are always active as we have seen this year; wildfires in CA; floods abroad; but earthquakes over 7.0 are long overdue and it is upon us to see one shortly. As always, it depends on remote area or populated area for extinct of disaster.
4. Prayer Movement - much is being said about the pockets of increased prayer emphasis; And this is glorious to hear. Is it a sound of the wind in the mulberry trees? Too many forget God's ways in these times. Remember Manasseh and Josaih's kingdom and the prophecy of Jeremiah. Revival came for a short time under Josiah, but then God said He would judge the nation for the sins of Manasseh and the blood he shed. I believe this is our plight now. A season of revival and at the end of it, or in the middle of it, the judgement of God upon our nation. A purifying of the church, persecution upon the church worldwide; and the beginning of greater sorrows. But while we have today, make the most of it for His glory and kingdom. We are not there yet, be much about prayer for His kingdom.
Updates:
--bible readings - up through I Samuel; word study - rise and all its forms; really enjoying this;\

WHAT AILETH THEE?
Greetings,
"What aileth thee?" Judges 18:23, 24
In the midst of such sin by Micah, by the tribe of Dan; this question is put forth. MIcah has made a graven image and copied the things of the priesthood for the Lord God and made them unto himself for his own worship. Seemingly with no regards as to his great offense against the Lord. Then 5 men from the tribe of Dan come and are searching out the land to conquer and gain for their people. They still have not taken the land which the Lord God promised Israel, for they were to drive the inhabitants, but they disobeyed the Lod. And to compound their rebellion and disobedience, they stop and seize the false god, priest and religious items from Micah's house by stealing them. Now Micah and his neighbors arise and pursue the children of Dan and overtake them. and out of this conflict comes the question, 'What aileth thee?"
And it is the same question that should be asked of our own selves. "What ails me?" Now there are 2 levels to this - the physical & the spiritual. The physical is in relationship to 'How are you?' "How's things going?" "What's wrong with you?" meaning physical issues or temporal, carnal things around us in our lives.
but the spiritual side is the more important question to the church and our nation; 'what ails you?' It is the absence of God; early in this book of Judges a few chapters before this chapter 18 is the account of Samson. And in that we read that awful verse, 'and he wist not that the Spirit of the Lord had departed from him." And another verse of same message and meaning, 'are not these things come upon us because God is not among us." This same plight of behavior is the reason of the sins of a nation, of the church and the failure of the church to deal with it and the personal lives living in a constant state of forgetting and forsaking God and His ways.
Not just a home here or there of the absence of God, but whole cities and streets; whole families with no Christian to be found among them; yea, 3 generations of grandparents, parents and children/grandchildren without God is among us. Latest stats show the US at an all time high of people not believing in Christianity. Large pockets of agnostics void of any understanding of Who God is or eternity. How can a nation go on like this? What ails you? This is what ails the souls that knows these truths.
Is God able to do something about it? is the power of the Gospel the answer? Of course! but it is ineffective when the Spirit of God needed to empower that Gospel is grieved, quenched, limited, forsaken, resisted. HE withdraws Himself and is limited to the people of God, who need Him the most. (Isaiah 59:1 - 2) And only the recognition of this is an answer to 'what ails us'. Why is this not addressed?
And because time has elapsed greatly, the numbers have multiplied to those evil agendas, evil hearts and we have seen in the headlines and the lifestyles of our society the impact of this reality. How long can a nation go on like this? Not much longer; and it won't be long without a Divine intervention. God must come and restore His church to its true place before the nation can be reached and rescued. Without A Divine visitation from God, only the wrath and judgement of God will be the status of our future.
What ails our nation? - already addressed is the absence of God; but upon that we see the judgements and the fruits of evil on almost every place of life in our nation. The work place, the schools, the streets, the minds and hearts of men and the family life are all reflection of the absence of God. These is rampant increase of abuse, death, disease, broken lives, homes and the very existence of our future is now in jeopardy.
What ails the church? - the church has the answer to all this, but refuses to engage in the absolute necessary repentance needed to restore our place with God and for God. A knowledge of the Holy in His Word, intimacy with Him, prayer and lives of holiness. Too much of the church looks, smells and acts and behaves like the world; there is no distinction of the church and the world. The church must 'come out from among them and be ye separate' unto Him, Who calls us.
What ails me? - Time has elapsed; precious time; needful time in my own life, my own disciplines. Time that cannot be regained, nor replaced. But the realization of this truth is so important. And it is of the greatest need to prevail before time runs out. this is URGENCY, due to the precipice of our plight/ And because of this plight, far too many of our loved ones are one breath away from hell; this reality of them perishing into hell fire for ever and ever should cause FERVENCY in our prayer of pleading for God's Spirit to fall upon us, upon me and empower for the service, and glory of His Name sake. This is a state of EMERGENCY.
There is just over 2 months left in this year. Much is happening, but not all eternally, or spiritually based. And it is necessary to answer this question and to deal with its reality. Finish this year well, that you may start the new year well.
Brethren, "what ails you?"

THE REALITY OF OUR SITUATION
Greetings,
"For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults; And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed." II Corinthians 12:20 - 21
Look for a moment at our present plight. Over the last 10 years, remedial judgements from God have impacted our nation, society, churches, homes and individuals deeply, as God's hand has gone out against us. During this time, the church has refused to respond rightly before the Lord. And in the midst of it, as more recently, the prayer remnant has continued and maintained its prayer life among the few. the larger part of the church are not 'houses of prayer' nor are they a people of prayer. There is more focus on prayer, but I do not believe the depth of prayer is consistent with our plight.
So it points us to all this activity of judgements and prayer for revival; of which shall our nation and the church experience: Revival or Judgement; or a mesh of the two?
Here are a couple of things to consider:
1. Revival is God's Sovereign will of when, how, where, and upon who. (Remember revival is to the church, not the lost society).
2. I have noticed reports of increase of salvations. Signs of a spiritual awakening. (Awakening is regeneration among the lost souls) Awakenings may be granted without revival to the church. If there is a revival, awakening is sure to happen.
3. Judgements are increasing at a rapid increase. The terms each week are 'historic', 'record setting'; "never before'. These judgements are from natural disasters, to deaths from drugs, suicide, homicide and diseases.
Sins of Demise (world):
Paul writes here to the church at Corinth of his knowledge of their carnality and sins mounting. This is Paul's second letter to them. And instead of them progressing in their walk with the Lord, and with holiness; it seems by his description they are going in the wrong direction. They are going towards the flesh instead of the spirit. They are not prevailing against sin and evil, but being swallowed up by it. This is not progress in Christianity but a demise.
A demise is a death, or a failure of finishing the task; a break down from completion. 'The wages of sin is death'. But when you see a society steamrolling to death, it is evident that 'God is not among us'. For God is life, but 'men loved darkness rather than light'. they choose death over life. Our nation is headed for death. Currently we are a nation of death. REcord number of suicide deaths; record number of drug overdose deaths; continued all time highs of homicides abound to eradicate our nation. We are dying so fast from these things, that our ability to repopulated and maintain a nation is now negative.
Satan is receiving the masses. the church seems oblivious to the reality of this; and heaven is stunned at the failure of man, the churches ability to herald the great news of the Gospel, regeneration in Christ Jesus. The reality of 'man' are on the broad and wide way; while 'few' are on the straight and narrow seems void to many in the church. and absent from the common man in the United States.
Spiritual demise is the death of the church and/or the Christian. somewhwere they left their first love; they forgot Who's they were; they forsook Him and His ways; they had no knowledge of Him; they failed to hear His calling for them to return; and He spewed them out. This is not the heathen, but the Lord's Own people.
Sins of Spiritual Conditions (church):
Paul set an example and taught the churches what it was to be a disciple of Christ, follower of Him. He taught them spiritual disciplines, day in and day out practices to maintain their faith and walk with the Lord. The church has highs and lows of this over the centuries. God instructs us to 'take heed'; 'to be faithful, steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding' in our faith and walk, lest Satan should get an advantage of us.
When the spiritual disciplines are neglected, forgotten and replaced with selfish ease, and worldly entertainment, one must ask, 'what the Lord will do?" "Let judgement begin at the house of God'. This is a fearful thing to consider and know. God's judgement upon His people for their failure is as severe for the church, as it was for ISrael, Judah and JErusalem in the Old Testament. 'God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow." Why would we ever anger, provoke, the Lord to respond in judgement?
The spiritual disciplines are founded upon 4 basic labors: 1. prayer; 2. study of the Word - through readings, studying, meditating, reciting; 3. evangelism - speaking of Christ and eternity to any and all; 4. church -
Until,
Dan

PRAYER BLOG - OCTOBER 6
Greetings,
"With great wrestlings have I wrestled . . . and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali." Gen. 30:8
80 Hours of Prayer:
1. thank you to all that helped and joined us. When it was all said and done, I think there was only 2 slots that did not get filled. We even had people late Sunday take open slots for Monday evening and Tuesday morning to fill it all up. It was a tremendous thing to behold from the Lord.
2. Why was this necessary - 1) God always sets His people to extraordinary prayer before He moves and works; the churches in Austin set the event, but the Lord was leading us to engage in the spiritual warfare at hand; God is getting ready to move. This was a Divine and historic moment in history. 2) The hour of evil continues to greatly increase. Isaiah 59 tells us that when evil comes in like a flood, God raises up a standard against it. 3) This was normal Christianity to 'prayer without ceasing'; 'to continue in prayer' and this generation and the former ones have lost this important weapon of spiritual warfare. It is good to see it returning. It must return!
3. What comes next? I do not have a direct answer to this. Many confessed that they have let their hands down in prayer. And that this time of prayer had renewed their passions and pursuit of prayer. Many shared that they had gone to new levels of praying. I am aware that many are scattered and most are alone to continue in prayer, time wears some down. they lose heart; they aren't stirred as much. But this is a wake up call to return to our first love and engage in prayer fully again. Much is on the line for our nation, future and the state of the church.
Out of my prayer time came the above verse. On Monday night in my prayer time, the Spirit spoke, 'with great wrestlings I have wrestled and prevailed.' I could not remember the book, chapter or verse of this. I knew it was close to Jacob wrestling with the angel and prevailing, but not the same event. Researching it, I found in Genesis 30 and the battle of Rachel and Leah. Yet the spiritual message in this text is the answer to these times of prayer. There must be 'great wrestlings'; not just wrestling or say a prayer; but great wrestlings to prevail.
This is a hard thing to find these days. But it is absolutely necessary to do. Great wrestlings is filled with the key words that are missing in most secret closets and corporate prayer meetings - FERVENCY; URGENCY; & EMERGENCY. These traits push one to demand God fulfill His promises; for God to hear and answer; and the realization of how late the hour is, is crucial. The reality and knowledge of eternity pushes us to great wrestlings because so many are perishing into hell without Christ. Every calamity of natural disasters, suicides, murder-suicide, drug overdoses, homicides sends men, women and children out into eternity without Christ. Once in hell, always in hell.
Great wrestlings against demonic strongholds, possessions of loved ones, evil minds and hearts is absolute necessary to prevail against. Saying a prayer will not prevail against such evil. Earnest, and urgent propels one into the throne room to obtain mercy and grace to help in this time of need. Failure to do this, fills our headlines and cities and homes with tragedy, death and horrible crises. Do you see or know of such prayer times against the enemy and his will and ways? It is hard to find.
Great wrestlings for revival to come and for God to remember 'in wrath remember mercy'. 'For who knows if God will turn and leave a blessing behind Him.' For if we do not pray for this act of mercy, revival, favor, then what will come is God's wrath, judgement and anger. We are already under great severe remedial judgement. Many are adapting to the times and not considering great wrestlings to see God send forth His Presence to meet us and show us His glory. Oh, how much evil would be righted if He would come upon His church. Yet, if comes not, then wrath will be sure to fall. Cataclysmic judgement, far worse than we have seen before. Final judgement on our nation and the church of North America for Laodicean church attitude.
Where are the tears? were is the urgency? where is the anguish? These things are a great part of great wrestlings and prevailing. To come out of a prayer time and to hear God said, 'Granted'. This is prevailing. And for this we must seek and find, before time runs out.
Dear brethren, we enter the 10 month of this year; the last 1/4 of the year. Where are you spiritaully? Are you in the Word faithfully? have you read through the Bible this year? Where are you in prayer life? Are you seeing and rejoicing in God's Presence, God's answers and God's revelations? Have you led anyone to Christ this year? Have you tried? Be much about the kingdom. Finish this year well.
CONCERT OF PRAYER
We have continued over the last 5 months to call for a fast on the first Tuesday of each month. and to gather during that first week for a time of corporate prayer. The prayer time is given to -- worship -- confession -- petitions. And they are cries before the Lord for our nation, the church, our homes and our hearts. We circulated this information in the spring of this year. I had two individuals that wrote and said they was praying for us. but no other pastor, church, association, or state embraced this call to prayer.
Prayer Link met this past weekend and are focused on networking and building resources. But a path to engage in prayer across the convention was not mentioned that I was aware of. (I was not at the full meeting).
WV convention asked me to come and led a concert of prayer time before their executive session. And following that time of prayer they may call for another before the state meeting.
It is the most urgent hour we are in for our nation. Why would we not engage in a more extraordinary time of prayer? Consider being a part of this. Let me know how I can help and assist with this.
Prayer Targets:
Preventive Prayers - prayers that see and know what evil is coming and pray to prevent it. God is able. . .
--crisis hour for some in these hours and days; suicide rates continue at record pace for 2019; Pray for minds and hearts evil affected by Satan. I have no doubt that Satan has planted and perpetuated thoughts of this evil. Pray to stop it and undo it. It may be the person you least suspect. This is a great evil of our day.
--two incidents at local county in Hampshire last week of threats. We have thus far been safe from school shootings. However, numerous plans have been found out and stopped. Continue to pray preventive prayers this week, as tomorrow may be that day; pray that these plans be revealed and thwarted before acted out. Pray for the individual to be turned by God away from following through with this.
--natural disasters; we are more than due for a 7.0 earthquake or greater; this month may produce that; and as always with earthquakes, in remote areas it doesnt matter to many; but in a populated area it matter everything of life and death. Pray for deliverance and protection.
--I have been watching the unrest in so many nations over these months. HOng Kong; Pairs; Indonesia; Haiti; Ecuador; Iraq; to name a few; a strong upheaval of the nations and governments is at hand; something is coming
--next sunday is BGR world hunger; I believe that 2019 has produced, due to weather related disasters, 7 - 9 million displaced people; food, waters, basics of life have to be provied to this huge areas being impacted by floods, storms, droughts, etc.
--lost souls - this week may be someones last week; and you know they are not ready for eternity in Christ; pray and take moment to witness,knowing their eternity is only one breath away; and remember the horrors of hell - "Once in hell; always in hell." O God, save these lost souls before its eternally too late.
Update:
--bible readings; up through Deuteronomy; word/phrase study this time - "Rise"; "Rise Up"; Raise; risen;
--The Acitivty of God - Psalms; up through 107; slow going; time has not been favorable to me for this.
--A Word blog - Isaiah 60; not many started or finished in September; so far this month, only 1 verses started;
--sermons are uploaded to my youtube page from Keyser church and Fox's Hollow; I have been somewhat surprised of those that say they are watching these. It is not evident who, or how many do. But let it be as the Lord sees fit.
Until,
Dan
