PLEA FOR CHURCH TO RESPOND TO ARISING EVIL

Greetings,

"Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you."  Jeremiah 7:16
Long have I feared this verse would become our reality here in the US.  And as the days of evil continue, I feel we are drawing nearer and nearer to this point, when God says, 'don't pray any more.'

With recent events this past week, I turned and urged immediate action and a call for the church to respond.  But as the course of our last decade has shown, we are content, as the church, to allow this evil to continue and push us to destruction.  The response should meet and exceed the need presented.  My previous labors in 'calls to prayer' have sought not to be reactive to situations but preventive of situations.  This is a reactive response in this letter and proposal.  I wonder if this is how Jeremiah lived day to day with the actions of Judah and the evil kings and the people's choices to blatantly sin against God?

I am not content with this present status.  If God so chooses to bring final judgment on us as a nation, we will know that we prayed and sought Him desperately while there was time to do so, that 'in wrath remember mercy'.  You and I who have labored thus, will have done that which was right in His sight and we obeyed.  Many pastors and leaders have told me that they believe there is no need to seek God for revival, nor for His outpouring.  They believe we have crossed the line, and there is no hope.  I have not received that message.

I have been drawn over these last years to seek God's favor for revival to impact this world.  To learn of it, to speak of it, to pray for it, to demonstrate His greatness to these unbelievers who scoff and blasphemy His Holy Name.  Many of you that I am in contact with have had this birthed within to seek Him for revival.  I thank God for each that hunger and thirst after it, for it is found Him alone.  But it is a small remnant that prays, weeps, fast, and cries out for HIs favor.  The vast majority of pastors, churches and Christians across America, know very little of revival, His power, His glory, and neither do they know to seek for it through prevailing prayer.

Because our nation has forsaken the Lord and that which He has done for us as a people, we are seeing the current events upon us in His judgments.  With this forsaking of the Lord, there has been created a vacuum which was once filled with Sunday Christian church, Bible, prayer, and a general religious knowledge of Him.  With these things removed, forgotten, forsaken and resented, it has been filled with sin, self and Satan and this has led to the arising evil in our land.  We have forsaken the Lord, thus, He has forsaken us.

Of all that remain in this land that should know this truth and seek to not allow it to happen, is His church.  But with the failure in our churches to 'know the Word of God, and the God of the Word', we have only accelerated our societies disaster.  Prayer against evil is little known of, rarely spoken of to the so-called 'house of prayer' (the church).  Therefore Satan has continued to steam roll our nation.  Evil has come in like a flood, and there was no sand bags by the church to eradicate it, nor stop it.

I cannot accept this.  And I turn to those of church and prayer leaders to lead and fill the sand bags and stop this flood of evil.  Therefore I am proposing the following reactions to the increase of evil in our land, by the church.  And it is that the Lord may have mercy on us and be glorified in such a moment as this.

Proposed Response by churches, pastors and Christians:
1.  the first Sunday of the month when congregations are gathered together, to make time for prayer before the Lord God to restrain this evil and bring forth His glory to those that sit in darkness and lostness.
This may consist of cancelling Sunday School/group classes and using that time for prayer.
This may consist of cancelling the regular Sunday evening worship service and use that time for prayer.
This may consist of taking more time in morning worship service to be allotted for this sole purpose of seeking and finding Him.
The time of prayer on this first Sunday should consist of worship of the Lord God.  There should be confession of national sins, church sins, family sins and personal confession.  Intercession, supplication should be made against forces of hell; for revival; for Divine help in such a time of need as our nation is in.

2.  A declared fast by the church and/or individuals to seek the Lord's mercies while they may be found.
This fast should consist of abstaining from food and/or drink for a day.  (This should be determined by the leading of the Spirit of what the fast should consist of).
This fast should be done at least once a month, bi-monthly or once a week.  The Pharisees fasted twice a week, and Christ declared that our righteousness should exceed theirs.
The lost spiritual discipline of fasting is needed for this time and should be sought for.  Especially among such a people that has way too much in abundance of provisions.

3.  I have sought for others in leadership to initiate this among SBC, as we once had in NAMB a prayer ministry.  This has been removed a number of years ago, and only remains among state conventions in several states.  I will seek their help and others to promote, initiate, and serve as guidance among churches, pastors and laymen seeking this same mercy of God against such a time of evil as this.
AS I shared earlier, I must do all that I can, lest I be guilty of apathy, disregard and disobedience to the 'heavenly calling' laid upon me.
Therefore, I will seek to promote such prayer Scriptures, themes, prayer targets for prayer times.  In the hopes of bringing a weekly guide to consider, adopt, and implement into prayer groups and times.  I will do this by live streaming video on my ustream account.  At this time I am considering Tuesday nights.  These videos will be saved and uploaded for access and sharing.

4.  Call for and be a part of weekly/daily or several times a week of small prayer groups praying and coming together.  Among many churches and areas of our nation, there are those that are few in number and many stand alone.  May God give us Aaron's and Hur's to hold up the arms of Moses for this most needful hour in which we are.  Solicit prayer partners, groups to be together for prayer on a weekly basis and throughout the week.

5.  It will be each of you that sign on to this to bring before churches, pastors, leaders and brothers/sisters in Christ the most urgent, desperate, fervent need of this hour.  Such discussion, sermons, prayer targets should introduce the evil activity, call for confession and/or repentance to our high offence against the Lord and His ways as a nation, as the church and as His people.
These topics are to show our enemies craft, 'we are not ignorant of his devices'.  And we are to show the who, what, why and how of how Satan has sunk this nation, and how he did it on our watch.  We should also demonstrate the great power of God in day's gone by with great revivals and how God's people prevailed.

I am asking of you to consider these things.  Solicit others of your prayer groups, pastors, churches and allow for the Lord to lead us forward in the wake of these devastating evils of our land.  Our window of opportunity is short, and soon the Lord will pronounce the above verse of Jeremiah 7:16.  Or we shall reach the point of II Chronicles, 'til there was no remedy'.

This is only a brief outline of suggestion for what I believe to be our response.  To those already implementing such things and going far above this, I rejoice in you and with you.  But for the majority of our churches and brethren it is not 'so named among us'.

These are the things that I am so led to initiate, implement and begin for a spiritual response to the evil of this age.  If you are led and directed for other things, may God go with you and prosper your labors for His kingdom.  Let us go forward together in seeking Him that in 'wrath He would remember mercy'.

I will await to hear from you.

until,
