Our Last Chance

Greetings,
In the current US circuit courts are cases being heard and laid out that will lead us to one final decision on same sex marriage.  Regardless of the rulings in the circuit courts, they will be appealed to the Supreme Court, and could come as early as October, for the Court to agree to hear one or all these cases.  Each of these cases in the circuit courts are the appeals of states over same sex marriage and its affects on numerous states.


It was after Propisition 8 was ruled unconstitutional in California that I knew that it would be appealed to the Supreme Court.  I began writing and appealing then that a 'call to prayer' would be issued across the Southern Baptist churches over this legalizing of sin and abominations.  In 2012, I appealed again to prayer and church leaders to set up a needful call to prayer and defining to the churches just what this ruling would mean.  Finally, in Dec., 2012 and Jan. 2013, I wrote a prayer guide and sent it out.  Although the prayer guide was passed and downloaded throughout the convention, there was not much 'call to action' until the arguments were heard in March, 2013.  And then again a huge outpouring by church leaders, prayer leaders and pastors leading up to the ruling in June, 2013.  Why must we wait for the last moment to respond and act?


Now once again in our lifetime we are faced with another possible ruling from the Supreme Court that may destroy our nation forever.  If same sex marriage becomes the law of the land, there is no possible way that God would allow for us to continue.  'To him that knoweth to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.'  And a nation so blest, so much favor and mercy from the Lord God, how can we allow one more sin to provoke and offend Him.  Do you remember our historical timeline of legalizing sin:


1933 - prohibition is overturned, and alcohol becomes legal;  How much damage, money, destroyed families and lives has come from this evil?  How many in the church labored to fight to keep it from being legalized? Such men as Billy Sunday preached and warred for our Lord's purposes.  Look at the sin of this great evil.


1963 - Madalyn Murray O'Hair and the Supreme Court legally takes the Bible from being read in public schools;  And now two generations removed from this huge verdict, we have one of the biggest numbers of children and young adults with no knowledge of God or His Word. 


1973 - Roe. vs. Wade and the Supreme Court ruling to legalize the murder of unborn children and allow for abortion to become the law of the land;  over 50 million babies have been aborted, this is an entire generation that has been systematically removed from our land.  But by God's grace and mercy the taking of these young unborn lives and souls were received by Him into heaven, and they was not raised in an heathen nation to reject Christ and die and go to hell.  But they were also not given the right to live and bring glory to the Lord God as we have opportunity.  How shall we know seeing they never was allowed to breath if one of them might have been the next vessel of honor used by God, like John Wesley, George Whitefield, Charles Finney that could have been used to bring about another great revival.  But alas, Vance Havner's words speaks to us, when he said, 'the four saddest words in the English language: "What might have been"'.  Let this not be the epitaph of our nation


Brethren, upon our door step is the next great calamity that may bring about our end, if this ruling of the Supreme Court on same sex marriage happens.  This cannot happen!  Now! while we have time, rise up and be doing our Lord's bidding.  Claim Matthew 18, 'if two of you shall agree as touching anything on this earth, it shall be done for them in heaven'.  And as Andrew Murray said, 'if two or three shall prevail with God, how much more 100's, yea, and how much more 1000's petitioning for the same thing'. 


While there is time, may I beseech you church and prayer leaders to do the following:
1.  inform the people of the great evil that this is, and will be for the future of our nation, children and grand-children.  One of the judges in Cincinnati circuit court said, 'to the states that have legalized same sex marriage, I don't believe the sky has fallen on them'.  But brethren, our land is evil and legalized every sin that God has condemned.  And this may very well lead to the sky falling and the full of wrath of God upon us.  We cannot go any further or have a future with such sins of Sodom and Gomorrah.


2.  'Continue in prayer' - it is the climate currently of the church in a greater call to prayer and seeking for God's manifest Presence in  revival.  Let this be the one catalyst to compel us to seek Him more earnestly and fervently.  An Ugandan refugee seeing the horrors of his land said, as a warning to the United States church, 'if you do not pray out of desperation, you will pray in devastation'.  We are seeing this in Iraq and West Africa now their praying out of devastation.  Why should we wait till devastation and judgment falls on us, when we had the chance to 'grab hold of the horns of the altar' and not let go till He answers and moves to revive us once again.


3.  A Day of Solemnity over the great offences of our land, our churches, our families and our own hearts to wait before the Lord in our respective places and churches.  Let a day be called to fast, weep, mourn, lament, and cry for help.  Let us seek and call upon Him, Who is merciful, that 'in wrath He would remember mercy'.  While there is time! 


4.  Do not delay, put off, for there is not much time left.  May you respond faithfully and obey as the servant said, 'I was not disobedient to the heavenly calling'. 


Brethren, I am not a prophet, but when God said of Manasseh's sin, 'til there was no remedy', I fear that our nation is at this point, and will complete God's wrath and anger against us, if this ruling does take place and it does become the law of the land.  This may be our very last chance!  May we spend and be spent for our Lord's kingdom, while there is time!
