REMEDIAL JUDGEMENTS
Remedial Judgements sent by the Lord
May 5, 2017
The remedial judgements sent by the Lord on our nation, on the church, on our families and upon individuals today should understood, recognized and dealt with. The failure by the church to understand and deal with this only heightens the judgements from the Lord upon us. This is not something that would seemingly be recognized by the lost. But the church should know these and understand why they are happening.
This article is written to help in understanding why and what is happening on our land, in the minds and hearts of people and where this is leading. I do not believe it can be a complete work on 'remedial judgements' for these are a vast undertaking to address it all. But to serve our purpose here, it is so see the 'handwriting on the wall' of our times and respond rightly.
Genesis 18:25, "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
Exodus 6:6, "Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgements."
Psalm 75:7, "But God is the Judge"
This is not an article of discussion on final judgement. In which the Lord will judge everything and call it into account. That judgement is at the end of time and seals the eternity of every soul. This about remedial judgments. Judgements that are sent upon land, nations, His church and individuals, to correct their behavior and deal with sin in the midst. A remedial judgment is sent to correct the behavior not just judge the behavior. And the understanding of these is ever so important for our time and day. Because if remedial judgments are not understood and dealt with, then the severity of the judgments heightens. And this increase of severrity can and may lead to ultimate judgment of death, removal and complete destruction.
Let us examine out of Scripture a few of these 'total/complete destructions'.
1. Jeroboam the son of Nebat:
I Kings 13:34, "And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut if off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth."
I Kings 15:26, "And he (Nadab, son of Jeroboam) did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked int he way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin"
I Kings 15:28, "Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead. v. 29 And it came to pass when he reigned that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jerboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the Lord, which He spake by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite: v. 30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel to sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger."
An example of God's fiery wrath against an entire family to remove them from the earth completely. For this same Lord that has power to create, also has the power to uncreate it. and a family line that He has created and given opportunity to exist and live and serve Him; He can also undo, end and 'remove from the earth.' How awful a thought to dwell on, that the Lord can remove from existence and rememberance any relevance that they was once here. The only reason that this happens is because they have sought, to the worst degree to provoke and offend the Lord God.
The example of Jeroboam is not isolated, but there are others to remember. There is the two sons of Aaron, who offered strange fire, Nadab and Abihu. There was Anninas and Saphira who lied about the money to the church, but more so, they lied to the Holy Ghost and were both struck down dead. There was all of those of Sodom and Gomorrah, complete destruction, except for Lot and his two daughters. There was another king after Jeroboam, Baasha, who was given opporutnity but did not learn the valuable lesson of fearing the Lord and he and his family line was removed from the earth. such examples are given as a warning to one and all, do not take this thing called life for granted. There is judgement at the end of life and time, but there may also be judgement here in this permament sense.
Identify Severity of Judgements
A number of years ago, I developed 'The Seven Levels of Judgments'. By looking at the Biblical judgments there is a learning of different levels to see how it affects and impacts nations, people, areas, generations and history.
The best example of this is the 10 plagues on Egypt in the book of Exodus. In these 10 plagues it sets a standard of God working to accomplish His purposes and Divine will. When men restrain and work against His will, God sends remedial judgments to change their behavior and response. As seen in Exodus, Pharoah hardened his heart each time and the next level increased in severity. compounding upon each other til it reached that point of no return, it reached death. And then the judgement was over. And Egypt was left in ruins as a result of not submitting to the Lord's will. it was done, because God knew Pharoah would harden his heart against Moses and the Lord's Word and commands. Therefore, God used it as a moment of history, of time to demonstrate His hand of wrath, anger, and remedial judgments brought to their grim conclusion. Let us examine this:
The Ten Plagues:
Exodus 7:2 5, "Thou shalt speak all that I command thee; and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring forth Mine armies, and My people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth Mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them."
Here in these few verses we learn, by the Lord's revealing what was going to happen and why it was going to happen. We see 10 plagues brought forth upon the people, upon the land, and upon the heritage of Egypt forever.
1. The first plague was the water being turned into blood. Exodus 7:20. All the drinking water was ruined by being turned into blood. Now God, Who is merciful, did not remove all water. For even though the water that they was accustomed to getting for drinking and fishing and watering crops and livestocks was tainted; they could go beyond and dig afresh and find water there. This is God's provision and His willingness to grant help and opporutnity. But alas, Pharaoh and the Egyptians filled with pride bucked against the Word of the Lord and refused to obey.
Now understand that the loss of water is life threatening. Yet we see God giving a means and way to grant and help them find water. They had to look and retrieve further than what they was accustomed to, but they would still have access to water to live. The loss of water due to power outage or some other unforseen issue is a great inconvenience, but in our society there is a means to find water to continue. Other nations around the world in great droughts, have limited access to find other means to survive, and this is life threatening. so they lost their main water source, an inconvenience, but they found an alternative means. this judgment was an incovenience, but not a hardship.
2. The second plague was the plague of frogs. Exodus 8:6.

Identify the Response of the Church needed to Remedial Judgements
This seems to be a 3 step operation of response: humble oneself; confess; and repent. The message of the Lord is consistent throughout all the New Testament. John the Baptist came preaching, 'Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus came preaching saying, 'Repent for the kingdom of heaven is here." And Christ crucified, resurrected and ascended to the right of the Father for glory says to the seven church in Revelation 2 & 3, "Repent". Is there a response? Is there an understanding of this Gospel consistence of what God says and what we should do? Or do we continue along on the same path, the same reactions and actions that we have always done? Is what we are doing good enough to please the Lord? or do we hear the command, 'Repent'?
The heart and soul that understands that sin has provoked the Lord to anger, has brought about these remedial judgements and has caused trials, tribulations, death and destruction will humble their heart. Only the fool hardens themselves and continues in the same destruction toward judgement. And yet the greatest crisis that we see today, is that there is a church who knows all these truths, has seen the evidence of days gone by and still continues in the same direction of their wicked hearts. How long before we meet the same fate? so there is the greatest desire to see the church stirred up and recognizing of the plight we are in and what is before us.
Identify the Response of the people/person to Whom Remedial Judgments are Happening
