HELP

Greetings,

The hour is late; the need is great and the only One that can help is the Lord.  Therefore, often in my prayer times, in prayer regarding circumstances, salvation, healing, forgiveness and the future, it is unto Him that I claim His promise and directive to 'I will help you saith the Lord".

Do you know these verses?  Here are a few of the promised verses of God helping:

And it is for the purpose of prayer in so many areas of need that these verses are very precious and powerful to remember, 'God is able to help us.'

GOD WILL NOT PARDON

Greetings,

"Surely at the commandment of the Lord came this upon Judah, to remove them out of His sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did; And Also for the innocent blood that he shed:  for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the Lord would not pardon."
II Kings 24:3 - 4

There are a total of 19 references in the Bible that uses the word 'pardon'.  There is three classes of the use of this word:
1.   God pardons;
2.  Men asking God to pardon their sin;
3.   Men being pardoned;

Now the point of this writing is only upon the first two of these.   This is especially relevant to the Scripture in II Kings 24, where because man has shed so much blood, that God says, He will not pardon their sin for this.   And if there is no pardon, then the sin still remains.   The consequences or results of sin, we know from Romans 6:23, 'the wages of sin is death'.   thus when God refuses to pardon a nation, a people, or an individual then death will be the result.

GOD PARDONS
Let us see that it is God's willingness and desire to pardon sin.  For He is the great God of grace and mercy.   If this were not so, He would never have spared Noah, called Abraham, made the line of Christ, sent Christ or allowed for Him to die.   Yet, because He will pardon, He has made a way.   This is the will and nature of God.   Yet, there is a point, a moment that God says, "I will not pardon."
Here are the verses that reveal and declare that God pardons/does not pardon:

--Exodus 23:21, "Beware of Him, and obey His voice, provoke Him not; for He will not pardon your transgressions: for My Name is in  Him."   -- This was the Holy Ghost residing as a cloudy and fiery pillar upon the ark to lead them in the wilderness.   It is a mirror warning as Jesus gave not to blaspheme the Holy Ghost, for He will not forgive such folly.   But the very descent of the Holy Spirit is before them and they were warned not to provoke Him for He would not pardon their transgression.
--Numbers 14;20, ":and the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word."   -- Now the people had sinned greatly against the Lord, and His anger was gone out.   Yet, Moses, as an intercessor, stood before the Lord beseeching Him to pardon their great sin.   Man calls, and God answers, "I have heard you and seen you, and will pardon."   God is willing to pardon, yet,  it seems He would not have pardoned had their not been a man to seek the pardon.   Does God's pardon hinge on a right response from man?

THE ACTIVITY OF GOD IN THE BIBLE - I CHRONICLES

The Activity of God

Going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, phrase by phrase and word by word to give attention to the following:
--the Names of God;
--the word & deeds of God;
--the sayings of God;
--the attributes of God;

Too often the churches weakness and the Christians weakness is found in this one sin, 'we do not know God'.  We have not studied the Bible, nor Him to learn more of Him.  Seeking that this might be a help for myself and others in this pursuit that each of us 'may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.'

17:7     Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto My servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over My people Israel.     God's servant David;   And God said/spoke (2);   God took David from sheep to make Him ruler over God's people, Israel;
17:8      And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.      God is and was with David whereever he was; God cut off his enemies from before him;  God made a a great name;
17:9      Also I will ordain a place for My people Israel and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning.     I will's of God to ordain a place for God's people;   I will's of God to plant them and not allow wicked people to move them and come against them;
17:10     the time that I commanded judge to be over My people Israel, Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies.  Furthermore I tell thee, that the Lord will build thee an house.      the Lord commanded;   God's people Israel;   I will's of God to subdue their enemies;   and God said/spoke;   I will's of God to build David a sure house for ever;
17:11      when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.     I will's of God to raise up Davids seed after him;   I will's of God to establish kingdom;
17:12     He shall build Me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.    God's house to be built by him;   I will's of God to establish his throne for ever;   Omnipresent; Omniscient;
17:13     I will be his father, and he shall be My son:  and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee.    I will's of God to be his father, and he His son;   I will's of God to keep God's mercy upon him and not take it away; God took it from Saul;
17:14      But I will settle him in Mine house and in My kingdom for ever:   I will's of God to settle him in God's house and God's kingdom for ever;
17:16     And David the king came and sat before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that Thou hast brought me hitherto?     God sees, hears and knows those that come and sit before Him;   God knows who we are and our households;   God knows how we have been brought hitherto for He has guided, led and directed all the ways of men;
17:17     And yet this was a small thing in Thine eyes, O God; for Thou hast also, spoken of Thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Lord God.    God's eyes to see and know all whether great or small;   God spoke and revealed that which was and is to be;  Omnipresent; Omniscient;
17:18     What can David speak more to Thee for the honour of Thy servant? for Thou knowest Thy servant.     God hears when His servants speak to Him;   God bestows honour upon His servants;    God knows His servants;
17:19     O Lord, for Thy servant's sake, and according to Thine Own heart, hast Thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.     God's servants receive of the Lord's mercies and deeds;   God's heart;   God does all these things of greatness;   God makes known these great things for His children;\
17:20     O Lord, there in one like Thee, neither is there any God beside Thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.     God is God alone and there is none other but Him;   God has revealed in the hearing of the ear of Who He is and what He has done;
17;21     is like Thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be His Own people, to make Thee a Name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before Thy people, Whom Thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?    God's people Israel;   God redeemed for His Own people;   God makes His Name great and terrible among the nations;    God drove out nations from before His people;  God redeemed them out of Egypt;
17:22     For Thy people Israel didst Thou make Thine Own people for ever, and Thou, Lord, becamest their God.     God's people Israel are His for ever;   God is their God;  God becames theirs';
17:23     Therefore now, Lord let the thing that Thou that spoken concerning Thy servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do as Thou hast said.      And God said/spoke (2);   God's servant;   God able to do and establish;   God will do what He has said;
17:24      Let it even be established, that Thy Name may be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel; and let the house of David Thy servant be established before Thee.     God's Names magnified forever;   God is Lord of hosts and God of Israel;   God to Israel;   God's servants;    God established before Him and to Him;
17:25      For Thou, O my God, hast told Thy servant that Thou wilt build him an house:  therefore Thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before Thee.    God is his God;   God told His servant that He will build him a sure house;    I will's of God to build Him an house;   God's servant prayed unto Him and before Him;
17:26     And now, Lord, Thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto Thy servant.     God iss Lord God of all;    God promised goodness unto His servant;
17:27     Now therefore let it please Thee to bless the house of Thy servant, that it may be before Thee for ever:  for Thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.    God to be pleased and what pleases Him;   God's servant house to be before God for ever;   God blesses and it shall be blessed for ever;
Chapter 18
18:6      Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.     God preserves His servants whereever they go;
18:11     David dedicated unto the Lord      God receives dedicated treasures from David;
18:13     Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoeer he went.     God preserves His servants whereever they go;
Chapter 19
19:13     and for the cities of our God:  and let the Lord do that which is good in His sight     God's cities in Israel;   God does that which is good in His sight and will;   God's sight;
Chapter 20
NO ACTIVITY OF GOD - 5TH chapter of I Chronicles;  14th chapter of the Bible overall;
Note - this is also the chapter at the beginning where in II Samuel that David sinned with Bathsheba; throughout this we see Davids vengenge on Ammon; and war with Philistines;   Sins consequences;
Chapter 21
21:3     And Joab answered, The Lord make His people an hundred times so many more as they be     God is able to make His people that much more as He sees fit;
21:7      And God was displeased with this thing; therefore He smote Israel.    God was displeased;   God smote His Own children Israel.
21:8      And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing; but now, I beseech Thee, do away the iniquity of Thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.     God hears and knows the prayers of His children;   God knows that David sinned greatly against Him in doing this thing;   God is beseeched with longing for mercy;   God is able to put away iniquity of His confessing children;   God's servant;
21:9     And the Lord spake unto Gad, DAvid's seer, saying,     And God said/spoke;
21:10     Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things:  choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.     God gives directive to Gad to David;   And God said/spoke;   God offers 3 choices and directs David to choose one.
21:11    Thus saith the Lord, Choose thee     And God said/spoke;
21:12     else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel.   Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to Him that sent me.    God's sword drawn and goes against him;   God's angel bringing forth judgement against all Israel;    God sent him;
21:13     let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great are His mercies:    God's hand;   God's mercies;
21:14     So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel    God sends pestilence upon His children Israel;
21:15     And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it; and as He was destroying the Lord beheld, and and He repented Him fo the evil and said to the angel that destroyed.  It is enough, stay now thine hand.  And the angel fo the Lord stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.    God sends His angel to city to destroy it;   God's angel was destroying;   God beholds;  God repents of evil against them;   And God said/spoke;   God commands and directs God's angel to stay his hand;   God's angel stops and stands;
21:16     and saw the angel of the Lord, stand between the earth and the heavn, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem      God's angel seen by David;   God's angel standing between heaven and earth;   God's angels hand stretched out  over;
21:17     And DAvid said unto God. . . let Thine hand, I pray Thee, O Lord my God, be on me, and on my famther's house, but not on Thy people, that they should be plagued.    God hears and knows David's prayer and heart cry;   God's hand asked to be on David and his family and not on Israel;
21:18     then the angel fo the Lord commanded Gad to say to David should go up, and set up an altar unto the Lord       And God said/spoke;   the Lord commanded;   God's angel gives Gad directive to give to David to set up an altar unto God;
21:19     which he spake in the name of the Lord     God's Name pronounced through God's prophet to God's servant;    And God said/spoke;
21:22     that I may build an altar therein unto the Lord     God's directive obeyd to build an altar unto the Lord in this specific place;
21:24     for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord    God to receive rightly things offered and sacrificed unto Him from His people;
21:26      And David built there an altar unto the Lord . . .and called upon the Lord; and He answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.    God's alatar built unto Himself;   God called upon and God answers;  God hears His servants prayers and receives offering;   God sends fire down upon offering;
21:27     And the Lord commanded the angel, and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.    the Lord commanded;   God's angel obeys and stays the destruction;
21:28     At that time when David saw that the Lord had answered him     God answered him;
21:29    For the tabernacle of the Lord     God's tabernacle and altar;
21:30    But David could not go before it to enquire of God:  for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the Lord.     God to be enquired of;   God's servant DAvid was afraid, the fear of the Lord, and would not come before Him;   God's angels sword;
Chapter 22
22:1     Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.    God's house and altar where burnt offerings will be offered unto Him;
22:2     to hew wrought stones to build the house of God    God's house to be built and prepared for;
22:5     and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical    God's house to be builded and be exceedingly magnifical;
22:6     charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel     God's house to be built by Daivd's son, Solomon;
22:7     to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God     God's house to be build unto His great Name;
22:8     But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars, thou shalt not build an house unto My Name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in My sight.     And God said/spoke;    God declares that He knew and saw that David had shed much blood upon earth;   God gives directive and explanation why God's house not to be built by him because of this;     God's sight, God sees all;
22:9      I will give him rest from all his enemies round about:  for for his anme shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.     I will's of God to give rest from enemies;   I will's of God to give peace and quietness to Israel in order to build the temple;   God foretold his name and what shall happen;  Omniscient;  OMnipresent;
22:10     He shall build an house for My Name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom     God's house for God's Name;   God declares him to be His son and God the Father;   I will's of God to be his father;  I will's of God to establish his throne for ever;
22:11    Now, my son, the Lord be with thee and prosper thou and build the house of the Lord thy God, as He hath said of thee     God is with His Own;  God can make way to prosper;   God's house to be built by Solomn;   And God said/spoke;
22:12     Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God     God is able to give wisdom and understanding;   God gives charge over Israel;   God's law to be kept;
22:13     If thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses      God charged Moses statutes and judgements to be taken heed of;
22:14     prepared for teh house of the Lord     God's house prepared for;
22:16    and the Lord be with thee     God is with His Own;
22:18     Is not the Lord your God with you?  and hath He not given you rest on every side?  for He hath given the inhatitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before teh Lord and before His people.     God is with His own;   God gives rest on every side;   God gives inhabitatns of land into Davids' hand;   God subdues the land before them;  God's people Israel;
22:19     Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord yoru God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built to the Name of the Lord.    God is to be sought;   God's house to be built;  God's ark of the covenant to be brought in house;   God's holy vessels to be brought into house;   God's house to built unto His great Name;

28:3     But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house of My Name      And God said/spoke;   God gives directive to David that he would not be the one to build an house to His Name;
28:4     Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king. . . for He hath chosen Judah . . . among the sons of my father He like me to make me king over all Israel.     God was Lord God of Israel His people;   God chose David over all the house of his father to be king;   God chose Judah over all other tribes;   God like to make David king over all his other brethren;
28:5     for the Lord hath give me many sons; He hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.     God gave and gives many sons to David;   God chose Solomon to be king;   God's kingdom of Israel Solomon would reign;
28:6     And He said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build My house and My courts:  for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his father.     And God said/spoke;   God chose Solomon to build God's house and courts;  God chose him to be His son and for God to be his father;
28:7     I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do My commandments and My judgments, as at this day.     I will's of God to establish Solomon's kingdom for ever;   God's commandments and judgments to be obeyed constantly and to be done;

28:13      all the work of the service of the house of the Lord. . . for all the vessels of service in the house of the Lord     God's house and the service to be done within it;
28:18     that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord     God's ark of the covenant;
28:19      all this, said DAvid, the Lord made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.     God made David to understand all the weights, sizes of the temple;   God's hand was upon him to make him to understand the pattern of it all;
28:20       Be strong and of good courage, and do it:  fear not, nor be dismayed:  for the Lord God even my God, will be with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.    God was David's God;   I will's of God that He will be with him;   I will's of God that He will not fail nor forsake him;   God's house;
28:21      all the service of the house of God    God's house and the service within it and for it;
Chapter 29
29:1     whom alone God hath chosen. . for the palace is not for man, but for the Lord God.     God chose Solomon to be king and build God's house;   God's house is the palace to be built, it is not for or about man;
29:2      for the house of my God     God's house for God was DAvid's God;
29:3     because I have set my affection to the house of my God. . .given to the house of my God     God's house that David prepared for;  God was David's God; and this was His house;
29:5      And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?    God's people to consecrate themselves to do the work of the temple for God's house;
29:7     And gave for the service of the house of God     God's house and those that gave to the service of it and the materials for it;
29:8     gave them to the treasure of the house of the Lord    God's house receives the precious stones given to the building of it;
29:9    because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord     God receives the gifts offered with perfect hearts unto God's house;
29:10     David blessed the Lord before all the congregation:  and David said, Blessed be Thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.     God is to blessed before all men;   God blessed and Lord of Israel for ever and ever;
29:11     Thou, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine; Thine is the kingdom, O Lord and Thou art exalted as head above all.    God is great, powerful, gloryious, and victorrious and majestic;   God created, sustains and owns heaven and earth and all that is therein;   God's kingdom;   God is exalted head of all;
29:12     Both riches and honour come of Thee, and Thou reignest over all; and in Thine hand is power and might; and in Thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.    God creates, supplies and gives riches and honour;   God reigns over all;  God's hand is power and might;   God's hand is able to make great and give strength unto all;
29:13     Now therefore, our God, we thank Thee, and praise Thy glorious Name.    God is to be thanked and praised;   God's Name is glorious;
29:14      for all things come of thee and of Thine Own have we given Thee.    God created all and all things are of Him and go back to Him;
29:15      For we are strangers before Thee, and sojourners as were all our fathers    God is distant away and unable to know His depths, and His creation is counted as strangers to Him;
29:16     O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build Thee an house for Thine Holy Name cometh of Thine hand, and is all Thine Own.      God owns and created all things;  God's house is prepared for by that which came from Him;   God's Name is Holy;  God's hand bringeth forth;
29:17     I know also, my God, that Thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. . . to offer willingly unto Thee.    God tries the heart;   God is pleased with uprightness;   God receives the gifts of those that offered willingly;
29:18     O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of Thy people, and prepare their heart unto Thee.   God was God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;   God's people;   God is able to prepare their heart unto Himself;
29:19     And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart to keep Thy commandments, Thy testimonies, and Thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace      God is able to give and make a perfect heart to keep all God's commands, testimonies and statutes unto Him;
29:20     Now bless the Lord your God.  And all the congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the Lord     God is to be blessed by His people;   God hears and receives the blessings offered from His people;   God of their fathers;   God is to be worshipped and men humbled before Him;  HE is worthy;
29:21     And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord and offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the morrow     God sees, and receives sacrifices and burnt offerings offered unto Him;
29:22     And did eat and drink before the Lord on that day with great gladness. . .and anointed him unto the Lord to be the chief     God sees and knows those that eat and drink before Him in honor;   God sees and knows those that are anointed before Him and unto Him;
29:23     then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king    God's throne for His people;
29:25     And the Lord magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.     God is able and exceedingly magnifies in sight of all;   God gives royal majesty unlike any before or after him;

PRAYER BLOG - FEBRUARY 12

Greetings,
"who mind earthly things" - Philippians 3:19

There is much through these Epistles of Paul on the vast difference between things of this earth and things of heaven.  Things above and things below is the contrast to which our prayers must often be fixed.   Coloss. 3:2, 'Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth".    One of the other references and phrases that Paul uses is "principalities and powers" and the relationship to those of this earth operated and dictated by God above.   these are things of His will and ways.
"Principalities & Powers" - the great emphasis of this is found in the great section of Pauls writings in Ephesians chapter 6 - what are we wrestling against, not flesh and blood;
Colossians 1:16; 2:10, 15

These references coupled with all the points of the Apostle Paul on eternity and things above and not things of this earth.  Especially this condemnation of this verse above, Philip. 3:19,  that those who mind earthly things are in danger of hell fire.   Paul writes that these are the 'enemies of the cross of Christ'; 'their end is destruction'.   But for us, are saved and born again, 'our conversation is in heaven (above, eternal, kingdom) from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Therefore, are our prayers earthly or heavenly?   Are they of things above, or things below?   Too often the Christian, the church is largely, sometimes solely focused on earthly.  They pray the things seen, and rarely pray the the things of God unseen.   They pray present, but never future;  they pray carnal, but not spiritual;  they pray earthly, but not heavenly; they pray finite, but not infinite;  they pray temporal, but not eternal.   Such praying accomplishes much of the Lord's kingdom, but it greatly advances Satan's kingdom of evil.   Herein is our condemnation.   Now there is a necessity and a time to pray for things of this earth, but it is never to dismiss nor neglect the heavenly.

And when you go to a prayer meetings that is all fixed on the physical, but never the spiritual it is a sick prayer meeting indeed.  Satan loves such prayer meetings, for he knows his agenda will advance.   Yea, it is an offense to the Lord, for 'it is things of the belly' and it is destruction to the soul.   Therefore, be spiritual in your gazing at the throne above, the things of God;  rehearse the things we have read on the principalities and powers for what God is doing and up to, rather than what men are doing.    Know that the spiritual battle won is fought beyond the realm of earthly and sight, and found at the spiritual battle front at Satan's domain.   Here is where spiritual warfare is fought and won; here is where souls are delivered from captivity; strongholds are torn down; principalities and powers bow before the Lord God; victory is given to the church and God is glorified.

Let us examine our prayer lives, prayer times and prayer petitions.   Are we balanced? or are we lopsided?  are we in tune with God, or simply of our own heart cares?   NOt much is gained to those that pray earthly and focus strictly on this.   Ah, but how much is gained to those that pray heavenly.   Brethren, learn the lessons Paul teaches us of these things of things above, things eternal.    Go higher, go deeper, for the Lord leads us by His HOly Spirit to fulfill His will.   And thus, we shall see the will of Satan and sin and self defeated;  there is power and victory to be found here.
What are you praying for? What are you praying against?

EPIDEMICS:
1. Drugs & Alcohol
2.  Cancer
3.  Great Evil - homicides; suicides; murder-suicides; school shootings; mass shootings; police officer shootings;
4.  LGBT
5.  Children - sex trafficking; abuse; neglect;
6.  Natural disasters;

The EPIDEMICS have continued, but lessened to the heights to which they have risen and been brought to see how severe the judgements are against out nation due directly to the failure of the church.   The lack of prayer and holiness within the church constitutes the absence of God among us, Ichabod and the power of the Lord is dwindled and diminished because we have grieved Him from us.   Thus, as the church we have forfeited the ground of our nation, of our homes, of our next generation and of heart and minds to be occupied with evil.  thus, the flood of evil through these EPIDEMICS have ravaged our land and our future.   The hope of course is in the remnant that is still laboring and crying out for mercy.

I have recently read of many "revivals" breaking out across the land.   I am want to rejoice in this news; however, the language being used is vile.   "Man brings Revival to church";   what?!  This is the blasphemy of humanism; men do not bring revival, God sends revival.   Be cautious brethren, as much as we know we need revival and want revival, Satan will use principalities and powers to deceive, yea, even the church unless we are cautious and discerning.   Now hear me well, I want it to be true.   Yet, I will not accept what men say but what God says.

ANSWER TO PRAYER LINK & EDITED CHANGE TO BLOG POSTS

Greetings,

The following is an explanation to the requested change to my previous blog post, 'Call to Prayer and SBC Response".

 I was contacted by Chris Schofield, executive-director of Prayer Link for the SBC yesterday, February 8.   I had written and worked on the blog posts mentioned for several days and sent it out February 5, Tuesday.   The requested change was that it was not to be written that Prayer Link had endorsed this blog post, or had anything to do with it.  And it was requested of me to remove Prayer Link from the blog.   This blog was sent to many of the SBC state executives, my prayer partners and church leaders, in and across the prayer life of the North American denominations.  And it was feared that with Prayer Link mentioned in it, that it would be viewed that Prayer Link had endorsed this blog, calling for prayer and concerts of prayer.

I agreed to remove Prayer Link from the blog and have communicated its correction.   Now there was only one reference that I used to Prayer Link, showing that this all began because of a task force organized by Prayer link.  IN the opening paragraph of my blog post, I sought to lay how these stats of the prayer life of the SBC was arrived at.  That last summer, I was on a task force of Prayer Link seeking to understand SBC prayer life.   In conversations among these brethren, it was asked, 'where do we want this task force to take the prayer life of the SBC?'   My response was, 'in order to know where you want them to go, you have to know where they are.'   One asked me, 'how do we determine that?'   My reply:  "you go ask them what they are doing in regards to prayer.'   Gather the information and get a feel where we are in our prayer life as SBC, as states, associations and churches.

They said they did not know how to do that.  I took upon myself to set an example of this, by beginning to contact as many SBC leadership officers and enquire what they were doing personally, as states, associations and leaders.   It centered on this one question,

"in a month's time, are you, your church/churches/ group meeting for at least 1 hour of prayer?"

Looking for one thing out of 42 state conventions, 47,000 churches, over 1000 associations - Are we praying corporately for one hour, once a month.     And from the small census that I was collecting, I found that 12 -15% were at least praying one hour per month corporately.   Meaning that 85 - 88% were not praying 1 hour corporately per month.

How could any pastor, church leader, Christian, state leader, SBC  leader not be convicted, and bothered about this?

Are you willing to accept this?  Is this not sin?

Most that are in leadership and have served the Lord faithfully for years understand that prayer is key to our relationship to the Lord.  It is necessary for intimacy with the Lord and the service to His kingdom.   All things done in this world are done through prayer.   but if prayer is not done, God permits and allows for Satan, flesh and evil to have their way.   The one thing the Christian church can testify to and know that prayer is powerful and changes things for pleasing in God's sight.   But prayer that is not done, is disobedience and a clear surrender to allow Satan to have his will and way with our loved ones, nation and future.

For most, when I speak urgently and fervently about this great need to pray, most in the church are in full agreement with me on these things.   I have never believed that their minds or hearts were hardened against prayer.   But as has been revealed throughout 2000 years of church history, it is simply about steadfast, persevering, faithful, day in and day out just doing it!   Prayer is hard for people.   The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.   Almost all agree it must be done, it needs to be done.   but the reality is, that it is not done.

And because it has not been done, for a very long time, evil and sin have risen and increased and come in like a flood.   Never have we seen it like this in our nation.   and the church, who has the power of God through prevailing prayer can alter that and defeat that.  But because we delay and disobey the heavenly calling of prayer, we forfeit the ground to Satan.

There are 672 hours in a 30 day month;  168 hours in a week; and what is being asked for in a month's time is 1 out of 672 hours to be given to corporate prayer.

Does this seem unreasonable?   How much could be done in power of our Lord if we would just obey and do it.  One hour of corporate prayer, not by 12 - 15% but by 85 - 90% engaged in

CALL TO PRAYER & SBC RESPONSE

Greetings,

"The Lord hath been sore displeased with your fathers. . . turn ye unto Me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. . . turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings:  but they did not hear, nor hearken unto Me, saith the Lord . . . .according to our ways and according to our doings, so hath He dealt with us."  Zechariah 1:2 - 6

Purpose of this letter:
Last year a task force was working to evaluate the prayer life of the SBC.   IN order to know where to edify, help and promote prayer among SBC, you must know where they currently are in their prayer life.   You simply go and ask them what they are doing in regards to prayer and what they are not doing.   Contact was made to state executives, associations and regional leaders, pastors and seminary presidents to discuss what they were doing in regards to prayer and what time was devoted to prayer in a month's time period.  From this it was concluded that only 12% of the 42 state conventions, the 47,000 churches, and the SBC entities were having at least one hour of corporate prayer a month.   Meaning that 88% were not having an hour of prayer corporately per month.

Now even if, we assume that there were some that were not contacted, nor heard from of these groups, and we boost the percentage to allow for error to 15 - 20%.   Are we content to say that we are a praying people?  or that our churches are 'houses of prayer" with over 80% not having 1 hour of prayer per month?

The following is to address this great need and correct it immediately.  The sin of prayerlessness has cost us much.

The Problem:

From the above stat we clearly recognize our problem within the SBC convention and our churches.   We are not a praying people, nor are our churches, houses of prayer.   The neglect and absence of prayer means that we are guilty of the sin of prayerlessness.   Without prayer, there is no power of the Holy Ghost to flow through pulpits or pews.   The church is greatly affected by this.  Thus, our continual free-fall of baptism numbers, deliverance over addictions, and protection from great evils.   Pastors, churches, SBC entities, and the individual Christians must recognize that our plight as a nation, society, families, churches and our own heart is found in this one issues, we are prayerless.

Our nation is under great judgement due to our heightened and increased acts of evil.  Evil that has been legislated, judicial edicts made and embraced lifestyles and  choices which directly go against the God's Word ways.    God has stood ready to help, answer and send His power, but He has not heard the cry of His people.   Now there is a remnant that prays, and thank God for them; this is the 12% that corporately pray each month, and they are often found many times in a week corporately praying.   And II Chronicles 7:14, which is a favorite to so many for the answer to our day, but we want God to do His 3 promised responses, yet we have not done our responsibility of the first 4 responses, especially 'If My people humble themselves and pray. . . ".   Thus, greater evil has swept into our streets, society, homes and hearts.   We have never seen it like this before.   Prevailing prayer is the answer to it all.

Remedy:

This is a simple remedy to our problem.   Samuel Chadwick stated, 'A prayer life is a life that prays."  Our simple remedy is to understand our plight, and correct it.   An immediate remedy is that the 80% of SBC churches, areas, states and entities, immediately in this month of February, begin to have an hour of prayer corporately to address these things.   And to those that are praying at least once a month, to increase to twice or each week  Whatever prayer is being done, among the brethren, the body of Christ, increase it to meet this need of our hour.

This remedy is to implement and suggest a corporate pattern of an hour of prayer each month in as many ways to be employed as we can.   For example, Family Research Council many years ago, started 'Call 2 Fall' for churches to pray at least 10 minutes on their knees for our nation one Sunday each year.   Our churches embraced that and increased it to where we pray the first Sunday of each month for an hour.   Cancelling our Sunday School time and employing corporate prayer for that hour.   Many groups and churches will have to remedy this sin of prayerlessness to simply have a prayer life that prays.

One thing about this remedy is necessary to understand.   The corporate prayer life of the church, I believe, flows out of the individuals secret prayer times.   The prayer times we have in our secret closets with the Lord, enflames the corporate prayer times.   Thus, if there is no prayer life in the secret closet, the corporate prayer meetings will be Spiritless. Let us make sure we are not simply trying a remedy that has no meat to it.

Response:
Intentional!!   We hear a lot about this today, especially in regards to evangelism.   But evangelism is trying to be done today without the Holy Spirit.   The power of God to save the soul is found in God's people being intentional to pray for Him to do what only He can do, which is to save the soul.   So whatever we are doing in prayer, I recognize it and thank you for it.  But our response must be more urgent and fervent, especially in regards to our emergency in our nation.   We must be intentional each day, each week to look for opportunities to gather ourselves together to corporately pray.

These corporate prayer times must be filled with worship - confession - pleading.   When I say worship, I am not referring to a band or music.  I am referring to adoration, Bible verses of God's Names, attributes and promises.
1.  Worship is about God and Who He is and what He is able to do.  Even though music is largely employed in this today, the corporate prayer time is more suited for declaration by the mouth of rehearsing to God what God has said and revealed about Himself.
2.  Confession is to identify how far we have fallen away from what we were supposed to be.  This is confession of sins of the nation - the church - families and our own hearts.   Followed with a resolve and repentance to be holy as He is holy.
3.  Pleading is a more desperate prayer than what most are accustomed to.  Pleading is much like Joel 2, which  depicts of "weeping, mourning" with tears and anguish for our desperate plight.  Recognizing how much we have offended a holy God, how far we have fallen from Him and a desperate urging for Him not to consume us but save us.   'In wrath remember mercy."

During the dark, sinful days of the 1700's, Jonathan Edwards received the correspondence from John Erskine of Scotland.   They had coveted together to pray the first of each month.  This prayer time was a day of prayer and fasting by individuals, the whole participating, yet individually done.  But sometime during that week, they came together corporately to pray.   The more the church took part in this, the sooner the revival came.   This is our REMEDY & RESPONSE  to our great plight today.  These are titled, "Concerts of Prayer".    Call for a day each month for prayer and fasting.   Set a time to corporately pray an hour, a night, a day.   During these times together worship - confess - and plead.   Let us now fall into the hands of the Lord.   for 'who knows if He will repent and turn and leave a blessing behind Him.'

Brethren, the hour is late, and the need is great.   Let us pray so as to prevail, while there is time.

I thank you for your attention to these things.   I would be glad to speak, pray and further this message as you feel led of the Spirit.
