PRAYER EMAIL - NOVEMBER 29, 2017

Greetings,

"Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate in Thy precepts.  Let those that fear Thee turn unto me, and those that have known Thy testimonies.  Let my heart be sound in Thy statutes; that I be not ashamed."  Psalm 119:78 - 80

Few days ago, I finished reading my bible through for the 46th time.  Challenged at 15 years old, by dad, who was my pastor to read the bible through, I took that challenge.  The Lord started doing a work in me at that time with my bible readings and devotional, "Morning and Evening" by Charles Spurgeon.  Little did I know that all this would lead me to my present day commitment to read the Bible through twice a year on my knees. Challenged in this by my biographies of great saints that read the bible on their knees and read it over a 100 times in their life time.  Read and challenged to set that for my goal.   Memorize and re-memorize Psalm 119 twice a year;  how this Psalm has filled me and taught me and called me unto Him in greater depths.

All of this to lead me to more and more revealing of certain words and phrases that jump out me and captivate my thoughts.   These captivated thoughts are for the phrase here, 'I will meditate in Thy precepts".   Meditate is used 14 times in the Bible;  5 of those are found here in Psalm 119.   Meditate, chew on the word, the meaning, the purpose of the Word of God for my life and for those around me.   And as you share that, glean from that, those that fear the Lord will want that also, for they have the same hungering and thirsting after righteousness that you have.  They will come and hear and learn and apply as well.   Iron sharpening iron to make it all for Lord's glory and honor.   And to do my word/phrase studies; having just recently completed the two from last time reading through - 'Deliver' and 'Woe'.  This bring me to over 30 word studies, and 12 phrase studies.   And what is all this about?  What is it for?  It is found in these verses of Psalm 119:78 - 80,  it is about meditation on the Word of God to the soul of man and shared to the hearts, minds and souls of men and women that fear the Lord as well.

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of God shall last forever"  Two things are eternal on this world  - the soul; and the Word of God.  and that which is so important to last forever should be invested in by His children.  The labor of prayer is what continues to increase, promote and secure the work of the Word of God in the soul of man for the saving of it.  And the Lord has called me to invest in it all.  a challenge from Him to be more than what I thought I might be.  and that I can say with Paul, 'I am what I am by the grace of God.'

all of this is a process in this life for the work while here and the preparation for the eternal world to come.  and all of us have this calling upon us to 'war a good warfare'.  I have lost 3 close brethren this year, saints that have passed on into eternity.  I walked with them right to the end.  the third one is only a matter of days or hours away from exited this life and entering that life.  All due to cancer.  but everything of  our time invested in the Word, in prayer is about that time of death that secures us to be able to say, 'I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith, my course is finished.'   Each one said to me, 'I wish I could have done more.   Oh, that I had given more time to the Word and prayer.'  Brethren, take a word of truth from the dead and dying.  'These men being dead still speak.'  What are you investing in?  What are you living for?  Your getting ready to finish a year, 2017, what have you done? grown in? matured in?  finished?

These word and phrase studies have been a process of this growth that have fed me for years - two of the greatest of these is the 'I will's of God' over 2000 of them in the bible of God saying, "I will'  Brethren this is an absolute!  And the other phrase study is all the questions of the bible.  Oh, how these have spoke to my soul and helped me, as well as gave me food to bring to the hungry in bible studies and church services.   They are etched throughout my prayer notebook, my prayer phrases and my understanding of Who God is and what is doing.  How much we fly over the Word, miss out on and yet it is there before us to glean daily.  Give time and place to know the Word of God and to know the God of the Word.

One of the things for the close of this year and the preparation for the New Year is to meditate on the Word of God.  Let it saturate your prayer life, your communication with others.  Allow for it to feed you and cause you to continue to 'grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord'.  Read the Word, study it, memorize it, pray it but don't forget to meditate on it.  The Holy Spirit will honor the Word to the soul that fixes itself for Him to allow for His image to be on our lives.  and those that see and hear us will say of us, 'they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus'.
Be a man or woman of prayer because the Word of God has lit your fire to seek and be much before Him.
"Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed; but rightly dividing the Word of God'

Prayer Targets:
--Dec. 5 - oral arguments in front of the supreme court for religious freedom & speech;  this will set the determined future for our nation and the church;  And I fear that the Lord will allow for the court to rule against religious freedom as a continued judgement on the church for its failure.   'who knows if the Lord will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him'  therefore I will pray;
Was pleased to read that Ronnie Floyd set the prayer call last night for NDP for this important issue.   Many of the church are unaware of its implications or even about the court case.
--drugs - push to fight drug war with more treatment centers with drugs;   deaths will approach or exceed 70,000 this year;
--abortion rates are reported down by CDC;  however, acknowledge and know that adultery and fornication is still at an all time high;  day after pill and contraceptives are the greater reason for the lower numbers, not that abortion is less desired by our nation;
--boko haran soliders attacked NE villages of NIgeria;  all these years and this evil continues;  ISIS is lessened but evil is still prevalent;
--more pestilence and disease - Hepatitis A in CA is unreal with defecating in the streets;
--North KOrea launch heightens response;
--teachers/student sex cases continue;  epidemic numbers across our nation;

Updates:
--Dec. 1 start bible through again;  word study - 'Destroy/Devour' & 'Holy';  phrase study - 'PLEASE GOD"  most of these I already have marked, just need to document them;
--finished Matthew in 47th time through with word/phrase study copying old bible to new bible;
--prayer emails will no longer be sent via mailchimp;  I will continue to post them here on my blog;
--sermons uploaded and broadcast on Sundays from ustream account and uploaded to youtube page;
--facebook live stream I've been trying to do once a week to share prayer targets and updates;
--24/7 prayer chain - http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090945a4aa2da75-2471/58736439   this is the greatest work needed right now;  please go to web site and sign up.
--A Word blog - closing in on 1,900 Scriptures done;  currently verses by verse in Isaiah 49: 1 - 8 for this month;
--DanBiser.blogspot.com which this is, not only am I writing my prayer emails from here; but it is also all my other writings;  currently started several other projects
1.   The Prayer Life - I wanted to cover some of the more in-depth aspects of prayer, more centered in on spiritual warfare and the hour of prayer;
2.  The Paradoxes of God - I wanted to document these 2 dozen Scripture that reveal God's nature and ways;  I believe most do not know Who God is nor how He works;  These are really revealing in our approach to God and in prayer times
3.  Seeing that the remedial judgements of September and October, I was and am moved to write on the warning of God when they are given and the response of the people to adhere or to reject or to ignore them   this is where we are right now

until,
dan

THE PRAYER LIFE

The Prayer Life

"Lord, teach us to pray" - Luke 11:1

"but I give myself unto prayer" - Psalm 109:4

"continue in prayer" - Colossians 4:2

"Pray without ceasing" - I Thessalonians 5:17

"God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you" - I Samuel 12:23

These are a few of the verses of instruction from the Bible regarding to pray and the prayer life.  The need is still the same as the disciples asked, 'Lord teach us to pray'.  And prayer has generated some of the most marvelous and miraculous results.  Every salvation, fulfilled promises from God, deliverance from sin, victory over evil, provisions granted and all because God moved some soul to ask, seek and knock; and God heard, saw and opened.  Prayer is the most powerful weapon at the church's disposal to combat hell and its forces of evil and to advance our Lord's kingdom here on earth.  How often is that prayer uttered from the church or from a saint, 'Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, here on earth as it is in heaven.'  And how is His will done in heaven?  Perfectly!  And our prayer life is exactly the same opportunity to prevail.

I.  Physical Prayers

How often in Christ ministry, that as He would come across the afflicted, He would ask of them, 'what would you have Me do?"   And they in quick reply would ask for healing of their physical infirmity.  I have always found it amazing that Christ, Who was God, Omniscient, would ask what He already knew.  But He was drawing out of them openly, out loud what they desired.  Blind Bartimeaus, the lepers, Jairus daughter, each and many more asking for Divine healing of the physical need at hand, at that moment.  and how faithful He was to hear, and to respond and Divinely heal them all.

Have we not all been here?  And if, by some means of mercy, you have not been here, give thanks, for the higher percentage of the church and of the lost world are all facing disease, sickness, physical desires of need.  And in most of these cases, only God can answer that need.  for the ways of man have failed, and now a Divine moment is needed or the valley of the shadow of death will turn into the death knell.  this is the physical need of the hour for most families, churches, and individuals.

And these physical prayers are offered for the temporal, carnal side of our existence and for those around us and affecting us.  Often the trials and tribulations that are not of spiritual need

II. Spiritual Prayers

III.  Prevailing Prayers

IV.  Hindered Prayers

A question asked by many a saints learning and waling through the process of prayer: 'I'm praying, but I don't see any answers to my prayer. . .  I feel like my prayers are not heard. . .  I ask, but I don't receive. . . I feel like my prayers are being hindered.'   The exact reasons of why our prayers are not answered is varied.  But our prayers are only hindered for two reasons:
1.  sin;
2.  unbelief (which is also sin, but more specific to the cause);

in the book of James, it declares to us, 'you ask, but receive not, because you ask amiss'.  Herein is a root cause of why prayers are hindered.

V. Sweet Hour of Prayer

If there was a reason to begin such a work on prayer, it is found in this heading of 'Sweet Hour of Prayer'.  I grew up singing it in church, loved by many, beatuiful melody and words that filled the soul.  But as the prayer life took off, I began to question, 'am I praying an hour?  is it sweet?'  Why sing it, if it isn't tru?  Or perhaps the other way to word it, 'to sing about sweet hour of prayer but never pray an hour, is a lie;  I'm guilty of lying about my prayer life'.  so in scrunity it is needful to see if we are praying just as we should.

the other area that came under scrutiny was the traditional Baptist church Wednesday night 'Pray Meeting & bible study" advertised for 7 PM.  I grew up under this.  And yes, even though it opened and closed in prayer, it was not a prayer meeting.   To those that report and know better, they say this died out back in the 1950;s & '60's.  The revolution of change to adapt to youth meetings, choir practices, other programs and meetings, the first thing that changed was prayer.  It was all but eliminated.   Not that the programs, meetings and spending more time in Bible study is not important, or doesn't advance the kingdom; they are important and edifying.  but the point is, that emphasizing an hour of prayer is not actually employed.  when in reality it is only less than 5 - 10 minutes of the hour.

When we set out on our first 24/7 prayer chain, I learned first hand how hard it was to maintain and employ that hour consistently and faithfully in the secret closet.  The benefit of the prayer notebook is underappreciated.  I broke it down into section of the hour for prayer:
--10 - 15 minutes of worship;
--10 minutes of confession;
--10 - 15 minutes of churches, brethren, missions;
--prayer against evil acitity;
--lost souls;
--petitions, requests, supplications for the nations, kingdom, future;

In this I learned to pray an hour and often overflow.  but I realized I had never seen this modeled, nor spoke of; (except in TW Hunt's 3:30 - 6;30 prayer time each morning, I knew his routine).

Why?  Because we know not what to pray for as we should.  and too much that is called prayer, is not prayer, but only mental thoughts about someone, or something.  Thoughts about may not constitute  what prayer is generally defined as, as communication between God and man, and man to God.  The richest prayer life is one who knows fully to Whom he is praying and to Whom he is hearing from.  Prayer is not simply about the Lord or His will and way; nor is it simple gestures, but it is open, constant, consistent communication before His Holy Throne. Herein, the prayer life is the Divine means by which God has instituted for us to speak to Him and Him to speak to us.

This is an inexhaustible topic, and it is not my purpose to even attempt to cover it all.  But it m desire to speak to that which is healthy and spiritual for the prayer life to prevail for the kingdom of God.  Prayer is not offered up simply to ease our conscience.  It is not done, to accomplish the spiritual discipline check-lists.  It is to ask, seek and knock for the will of God to be done in the will of men. And that as in all things there are stages of growth in life, so there are in prayer.  God would not have us always to be babes in Christ and remain on the carnal, temporal and selfish.  But He would have us to have great faith, and 'do great and mighty exploits for His glory and Name sake.'  Let us examine the ways of prayer so as to continue to 'grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord'.

PRAYER EMAIL - NOVEMBER 23 "DO YOU SAVOUR THE THINGS OF GOD OR MAN?'

Greetings,

"But He turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind Me, Satan:  thou art an offense unto Me:  for thou savourest not the things that be of God; but those things that be of men"

and herein is our question, Have we savoured the things of God throughout this year? throughout this month? and are we longing to continue to savour the things of God right through the end of this year?  So much is at stake in these days, weeks and months ahead.  And too often I have learned and watched in my own self as well as in others of how fickle we are in spiritual disciplines.  Never have I seen church, bible, prayer and evangelism so 'inconvenient and optional to Christians.  Can they really say they savor the things of God when they turn from His ways to world, self and sin?

My greatest desire is to be filled in days and weeks with labors before Him, in Him and by Him.  church, prayer, witnessing, instruction, time, calendar filled with activity about God and for God.  How can we short-change Him our time and energies so much and still say we savour the things of God?  Time must be invested in the eternal, spiritual, purposes of God.  And if they are not, then it is temporal, carnal, selfish, and our own will and agendas.  Let us look again at the 4 pillars of the faith in spiritual discipline for the close of this year and headed into the new year:
1.  bible -  its not an option for us;  We have been entrusted in North America with access, freedom, education to glean, learn, apply and know the Word of God.  How many nations, people would give to have what we have and cannot for persecution, limitations.  Where much is given, much is required.  and God will require of us what we did with His Word when He entrusted it to us to cover the world with it.  Your daily time has to be in the Word, to know it, read it and let it speak to you.  Sporadic, minimal readings are not sufficient for a healthy spiritual growth.  Too many spend more time on facebook, social media watching TV than in the Word.  This sin is rarely confessed or addressed by the body of Christ.  Be much in the Word;  give time to devour it for His work to be done in you.
2.  prayer - how much I have craved to be more and more in prayer;  To match the great praying saints is set before me.  Not just to polly repeat them, but to emulate them in their patterns and times for the sake of what it means to the kingdom and to our Lord.  In prayer, I have seen and do know that Satan hates this more than anything else.  HE fights hardest against the soul resolved to pray more and learn to pray.  In this I know that it is one of the most treasures of our day to be much in prayer.  Examine this savour in the Lord and the things of God and follow Christ example of prayer.
3.  Sharing the Gospel - how much this impacts me about the souls of men;  how many will be graced before us on judgement day that we knew we were to tell them, talk to them, convey to them the Gospel truth and yet we allowed for other things to distract, rob and detour us away from this act of obedience in sharing the Gospel.  Make it a priority to speak about eternity to one soul a week; and if doing that, then increase to fill 4 - 5 days a week.  The harvest is white but the laborers are few, pray . . .
4.  church - too many think of church services, buildings as the means of the church; yet in these buildings, services is where the body gathers to fulfill the Lord's work and desire;  They view these services and buildings as optional, random.  Yet, the church is the most important thing in the life of a Christian.  Christ died for the church; Christ started the church and Christ is coming back for the church.  don't tell me the church isn't important.
but the activity of the church is so sinful and vile that it grieves the Holy Ghost greatly.  You see this in the attendance of church services.  In the US we are now under 20% of our 330 million population that are in church on any given Sunday morning.  This greatly lessens for Sunday night services; mid-week services; and the slim, rare to find prayer meetings are all less and less with faithful, steadfast stewards of the kingdom in the church.  for most, what kind of Christian you are is found in your church attendance.

In these 4 areas I find, determine our savouring of the things of God or not.  time given or time taken away from these things determines our savour of God.  And the things of holiness, eternity, Spirit vs. carnality, temporal and self are clear evidences of what we savour in this life.  And to the most part will determine our eternity with Him or away from Him.  How important to live this life for Him, in Him and about Him.  Strive to finish this year at the highest acts of obedience and reverence to the things that are savoring to God.  eliminate and flee from the things that savor to me/men.

24/7 prayer chain -
 http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090945a4aa2da75-2471/58736439
This is by far the greatest need of the hour.  A continual, prevailing, praying 24/7 chain that comes before the Lord for His purposes, His kingdom, His promises, His will in His people and for the nations.  a labor of prayer offered up before Him is the greatest battle and warfare needed today against evil.
But I realize that to many such praying is not possible.  An hour prayer times is a hard thing to find among the church body today.  You would think a weekly corporate prayer times would be a good thing, yet that is also hard to find among the churches today.  Most churches simply do not know how to pray an hour, nor do they pray an hour a week.  And the individual prayer times are often filled with thoughts about people and things, yet not what we would consider offering up petitions, supplications, intercessions.  Now God knows our thoughts and intents in prayer, but to many say they are praying, when really they are have mental thoughts.  Make sure we are communicating to the Lord in prayer times.

Prayer Targets:
--Dec. 5 - it will be another day of infamy for the church and our age;  few in the church are aware of this day of the oral arguments set to begin in the Supreme Court over business vs. LGBT agenda;  Ruling will impact business and have huge implications to church.
--also more religious denominations setting trend to favor gender bias in stark contrast to Bible;  erosion of our day into abominations being accepted and favored;
--murder-suicides - have abated this past week;  thankful for this but this is a continual on-going battle against evil in the minds of men and homes;
--another police officer shot & killed in TX;
--drugs; on course for 70,000 deaths this year;  huge implications on our society, generational, and continuance of this evil;  entire generation being wiped out;
--holidays abound and take priority in churches and Christian lives;  priorities are shifted to family, self, ease, etc.  spiritual warfare takes a back seat during these 2 months into the new year;  dangerous times;
--epidemic of teacher/student sex cases continue; someone should hypothesize where this will lead in laws, school, relationship etc.  it is becoming a norm with less and less repercussions;  no doubt children, along with sex trafficking will be targeted rather than adult abusers; age will be dropped to 12 for legal contact; perversion and lasciviousness abound;  giving us over to reprobate mind;

Update:
--bible reading; last day, Revelation 12; should finish Saturday, 46th time through;  word studies completed this time was 'Deliver' & 'Woe';  along with a few other 'PLEASE GOD";  and highlighted Sin, Iniquity, Evil, wicked, sinner, abomination in red highlighter

;  I had done sin, sinner, before but now color coated;
--word/phrase study - up through Matthew 19;  puts me under 300 pages to completion;
--sermon uploaded to youtube page;
--leaning to prayer emails to be posted on social media of twitter & facebook account and here on my blog danbiser.blogspot.com  I may just eliminate mailchimp
--facebook live stream - I have been trying to do these once a week;  such a hard thing to fit in, yet a quicker way to present prayer targets and updates;  Use the social media to encourage, edify, teach, share and bring together for His business.

Until,

Prayer email - November 18

Greetings,
"the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians.  v. 25 and took off the chariot wheels. . . ' Exodus 14:24 - 25

Ah! what a sight when the Lord fights for His people.  "If the Lord be for us, who can be against us'  But what is it if you are on the receiving end of the Lord fighting against you?  We live in a paradox of this for our nation and the church.  Many will say that God is judging our nation; and He is.  But are we willing to understand that He is judging the church, His people as well.  Do we remember what the Book says, 'let judgement begin at the house of God'; 'if you don't repent, I will come and remove your candlestick (to the church of Ephesus)'.  God wants His bride pure and holy, pleasing in His sight.  And if we are not, then we receive correction as well to understand that this is not acceptable.

but how much more when the judgement comes, when it is for the fact that we live in a nation that has set itself against the Lord.  As the remnant of Israel during the days of Elijah,7000 there that had not bowed nor kissed Baal, yet obscure and remote in their worship due to Ahab and Jezebels persecution.  How about the church in China, underground, remote, limited as far as freedoms, yet still remain in faithful and obedient and growing.  So that people that look at that and in the book of Acts and say 'well the church has to go through persecution to grow'; but that is not so.  God sees fit to allow this for some; but it doesn't always have to be.

And so we see that God looks down on a nation that provokes Him and sees their deeds and knows their hearts of evil.  He looks upon His church and sees their response and service to Him.  And in the combination of these two, nation and church, we see a people that is not pleasing to Him.  And when I say church, I am referencing the religious institutions of our nation as well as the remnant that is among them.  Now the remnant is doing that which pleases the Lord - fasting, praying, serving, growing and seeking to be holy.  Yet, the deluge of evil in our day is sweeping heart and minds into abyss of evil in our headlines.  Although the remnant is faithful, judgement is falling, even now.  And the cause of all of it, is sin.

What are some of these faults?:
Nation:
-- continues to escalate evil; 'the thoughts of their minds are continually evil';
--self is their god;
--entertainment is priority and time consumption;
--legalized and judicial edicts of abominations and sins as our way of life; abortion, alcohol, drugs, homosexuality, etc.;
--family is destroyed by adultery, abuse, neglect, torn apart and shredded are the majority of households today;
--humanism is mind set, thus we don't need God
Church:
--lack of bible knowledge; reading, studying, memorizing, sharing;  this often confessed by most that are stirred up, that they had not been taught to love the Book and know the Book;
--prayer; greatly hindered, loss of time, this confession is many among pastors and church memebers that they have no prayer life, nor do they spend adequate time before the Lord;
--evangelism; too many in the 11 month of this year, will confess that they have not communicate the Gospel message of eternity in Christ or without Christ to one soul;
--fasting; a lost moment of what is greatly needed against this day of evil;
--church attendance and participation is largely open-ended;  no faithfulness
--
Wheels coming off:
--since last Thursday - there have been at least 5 murder-suicides in 4 different states; with a total of about 12 losing their lives, 2 families of 4 died;
--another rampage shooter in CA where 4 were shot and the shooter was killed by police;
--Dec. 5 quickly approaches for the court case that will determine our future.  Still have not heard much on this;
--Obama continues to organize a group opposing all the work of Trump; 30,000 followers in this, continue a state of anarchy and upheaval, the likes we have never seen;
--several each week of more teachers/student sex headlines;  continues as an epidemic of evil;  one every day of this past week has been reported and arrested from across the nation;
--each week more parents of neglect and murder, abuse on their own children;

The wheels are coming off - family; church; society; minds and hearts.
Now remember the Egyptians never got out of the Red Sea, but in the next verses, God had Moses turn the waters upon them and drowned them all.  He took the wheels off to stop them in the midst to be drowned.
Where are we? Will we get out?  Will we perish as a nation?: Will the church be sent underground?

Response of the Church:
Joel 2
1.  v. 6, 'Before their face the people shall be much pained:  all faces shall gather blackness' - my efforts and pleadings with church leadership and prayer leaders is to do something before we get to this point.  But in many ways we are much pained with the crisis of our day of mass shooting, church shooting, homes torn apart, drugs in every family, cancer in every family, etc.
2.  Fasting & Praying - the great need is the response of the church to identify where we are in light of Scripture, remedial judgements so that a proper response might be made;  begin with once a month for coporate prayer times and fasting; weekly fasting and prayer by small groups and individuals;
3.  an assembly to gather to address the sins of the nation, the church, and the individual to confess before the Lord;  Herein is our high offence against the Lord that has provoked Him.  These are largely not known to the nation, or to the majority of the church.
4.  an act of repentance to turn away from these evils and turn to Him with all our heart, mind, soul and body;
5.  A renewed vow and covenant between us and Him.

And to this end and these 5 suggestions I continue to work towards that there may be a right response.  For I still believe that there is time, God is waiting on us to respond rightly, and our failure to recognize and do only compounds and deepens the judgements.  so while there is still time, I plead respond.

Update:
--T- 10 days before finishing bible reading;
--word studies of 'deliver' and 'woe' winding down;  new word study for next time will be 'destroy' and 'holy';
--no writings;
--sermons from Sunday uploaded to youtube page;  Acts 19 at Fox's Hollow; Acts 20 at Keyser church;
--24/7 prayer is still looking for partners to join us in these days for a prevailing spirit of prayer against the evil and for the mercies of God;  'in wrath remember mercy'  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090945a4aa2da75-2471/58736439
